Greetings all,

I’m hoping some of you that have 20 inch wheels can help me decide on a new set of tires. I’ve searched this forum as well as Tire Rack etc. etc. but was hoping for some real world feedback.
I live in Louisiana (Geaux Tigers) so snow isn’t a concern, but we get plenty of rain so wet traction is important.

Any input would be helpful as I made the mistake a few years back of getting a cheaper tire and now I’m looking for a better performing tire. I’m not racing at the local track, so a quiet comfortable ride is what matters.

Thanks in advance.

What Yoda said

I have Continental DWS 06 I also got them wider
275 35 20 and they fit great.

They also came out with a new model that looks promising.

Great in the wet as well.

I buy from eBay, great great deals

Thank you both. The reviews on the DWS 06 that I’ve seen are mostly positive on Tire Rack etc., but it can be difficult to find reviews specifically for the Q70.
Thanks again!

I never had the Contis on my m37 but bought them for my Quest Van. I was not happy to say the least. The squishiness was almost criminal. I am not sure if the much taller side wall is the only reason but they are way to thin for the height. Obviously your Q on 20's would be a complete different scenario.
I bought three sets of tires since I owned the M;

Bridgestone Potenzes (OEM replacement) - would not recoomend.
BF Goodrideg G-Force Comp2 A/S - they were pretty good overall. A little bit 'truck-like' in the appereance (the tread design) but I would consider them again if the price was right.
Right now I have the Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2SL on and I like them. Will definately consider for replacement which is coming pretty soon.

Good info! Like you stated maybe the Contis aren’t a good option for vans or an suv. I’ve also heard good reviews on the BF Goodrich G-Force and actually priced these yesterday at my local tire shop. I replaced the OEM Bridgestones with the General G Max A/S 05 which as an improvement but the generals haven’t held up well after 25k miles.
Appreciate the feedback!

I have basically the same car. I put on a set of Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ on the car about 6 months after purchasing it. I had the same line of tires on my M35x. I really liked the 18" ones on the M35x. On the Q70 they perform great on both dry and wet roads.. I wouldn't call them quiet, nor are they terribly noisy. The ride is very firm. They don't tramline in the typical grooves on the freeway, but when you get on a stretch of concrete freeway where they've moved the lanes, they will tramline, sometimes harshly if you're not paying attention. Not sure if I'm describing that quite right, but it can be a little scary the first time it happens. Overall I would give them a 4 out of 5 rating, where they were 5 out of 5 on the M35x. If they had made an 18" version that fit the Q70, I would rather have had that.

I've been driving lots of miles this winter and decided to buy my first winter performance tires - Michelin Pilot Alpin 4s and put them on the original 18" rims. Much smoother and quieter ride and they seem to handle well in water. I've lost about .5 mpg since putting them on.

Kmiles

That is the exact same rundown on my Continental dsw 06.

Good tires aren't cheap at all.

Let us know what you end up getting.

Just fitted Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ to my 2016 Q70L. The difference from Bridgestone is amazing. The Bridgestone were so bad I was considering changing the car!! Highly recommend the Michelins.

I've got the Conti DWS 06 on my M56x (same as Q70). Awesome tires, esp. in rain and snow. Best tires I've had. 10/10 would buy again. I got 'em from TireRack, since no local dealers had them in stock. Bonus: TR's road hazard warranty also replaced a tire that got punctured by a screw within my 1st year. continental-extreme-contact-dws-06-sl-t622852.html

I run Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's on my Chevy SS...and they're hands down the best DOT sports car tires I've ever run. That being said...they were NOT cheap. Stock size in the 20" flavor are likely to run you $320+ each for our cars. You could spend about half that and get a very good tire. I'm partial to the Toyo's, Sumitomo's and Nitto's myself and will likely grab a set of one of those when the current tires (sumitomo's) wear out on my M37S.

Check eBay

Put the tire size in the search and let er run.

Some great deals on tires right now. My seller was discount and the price diff was quite a bit between the store and eBay.

Good luck

I don’t believe the Premier A/S touring is available in a 20 inch tire.

The Michelin Premier A/S touring tire is a whole different tire and not meant for a sport based wheel. We have a set on my wife's Lexus ES350 and it is a great tire for that car and my wife's driving style. For someone who has the 18" wheels and wants a soft ride with good (not great) handling and lives in an area with lots of rain - then the Premier is a good choice. The tire is a little noisier than other touring tires, but not bad. For someone who want a soft luxury ride, good handling and a good rain tire, then I would recommend it. For a 20" wheel I would look at the Michelin Pilot series of tires.

Just an update... I went with the Continental DWS 06 and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Had them on for about a week now and the ride quality and road noise is much improved.Today was my first experience the rain, and the tires performed flawlessly.

I ended up getting the tires from my Infiniti dealer.... they’re currently running a special of buy 3 tires and get the fourth for $1, which includes free rotations.
My out the door price beat Tire Rack, Tire buyer etc. including alignment.

Thanks to everyone for their input - I really appreciate it!

That's what I run
I'm running 1" spacers so I'm not sure about any rubbing without using them

I think it would work but I'm not sure

Yes I'm using the factory sport 20" wheels.
