im running 15mm H/R spacers with my stock wheels... 235-60-15 firestone Indy 500 All seasons...

I dont drive the car in the winter as much and I certainly dont drive it as hard... which is why i feel a little better about spacers.

STill would NEVER run them with my summer wheel and tire setup..... But, I am not going to comment ANY LONGER about spacers.. People are failing to see the point, that WHEN YOU HAVE TO CHOSE BETWEEN RUNNING SPACERS AND NOT RUNNING SPACERS, THE CHOICE IS OBVIOUS..! If you can get another set of wheels that you dont need spacers for similar money (in the case of Y50 M45 wheels) you should always do that!!!

No one will argue the quality of pretty much anything made by H&R, and for an off the shelf spacer they are easily among the best. HOWEVER, there are MANY companies that make CUSTOM spacers to the customers specs that are JUST as good as H&R. As long as they're machined out of high grade billet aluminum, and use 5/8 studs (bolt-ons) you should NEVER see one fail. Now a cheap, die cast Pep Boy special on the other hand, not such a good idea.

The point is, they are unstructural, unsprung dead weight. If you have the correct wheels, you don't need them.

I was checking out some wheels on Ebay and found a vendor whose website is:

http://www.lawheel.com

They have many Infiniti wheels for sale on Eaby with beautiful pics, offset and size information and say that the M35 wheels will fit on a 1991 Q45.

Here is a direct link to the M35 wheels:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...photo

Here is a link to other Infiniti wheels they are offering for sale:

http://stores.ebay.com/LA-Whee...QtZkm

I wrote them an email saying that my friends feel that the wheels won't fit and they responded saying:

"Thanks for writing. Straight from the owner, we guaruntee they will fit. We are talking about 45mm and 47mm offsets. Not a huge difference:-) We guaruntee they will fit. Give me a call if you have anymore questions. Believe the wheel pros, not your friends. HA! Take care.

What do you think about that?

On my Y33 I took my 19" M45 Sport rims to my mechanic. The rears fit but the fronts will need spacers. i was freaked out at first and thought I should sell them but kevin convinced me that it is cool. I will get the Q lowered with the Tein springs and KYB Shocks installed, recover from from that expense and than replace my 17" rims with those 19" ones with spacers customer made by Kevin's guy in Culver City which is right where my mechanic is....I wouldn't worry about it, go for it if it gets you the right rims.

He's right 45mm to 47mm is not that big of a deal, IF the wheels are the same width. But, IIRC, you're comparing a 6" wheel to an 8" wheel and that math DOES NOT WORK. In that scenario the wheels would be 23mm closer to the fender, and don't forget to add 1/2 the additional tire width. Assuming you'd increase from the stock 195 width.

(yes, that's a big if)

Folks, the 2006 M35/45 18" wheels with the 47mm offset and the M35/45 Sport 19" wheels with the 50mm offset, will not fit a first-gen Infiniti Q45 without using spacers (which some people are okay with - I am not).

Also, given the possible tire options that go with those wheels (with the right load index, etc., and I am not talking about stretched narrow tires either - that is unsafe, IMHO), the low-aspect ratio tires will have section profiles that almost guarantee contact with suspension components.

My advice: use spacers (if you really want the 2006 M wheel) or please get wheels that fit properly. If you really want to stick with Infiniti wheels, use the various 17 inch or 18 inch G35 and 350Z wheels with 30 (borderline), 33 and 35mm offsets or the 18 inch wheels from the 2003/4 M or Q45. They will work better!

If he guarantees that he will take them back and pay for shipping both ways too, you are quite welcome to believe them, I suppose. But, I think you will not be happy.

And ... when the guys does not even place the right value in the eBay ad (it is 47mm not 45mm, and this is clearly marked on the wheel!), I would not trust his comments too far. Sorry! Just my two cents.
