I thought it was gonna be the 5.4 l engine?

makes sense considering ford ownes mercury and did make hte 5.4 like in the lightnings, the new lightnings wlil have a 5.4 with 5oohp (supercharged)

The marauder is a dual overhead cam 4.6 litre v8 and does a 14.8 quarter faster than most cars here. There is a company that supercharges marauders and gives thme 425 hp but mercury/ford has no plans to put a 5.4 litre engine in that car. Back in 2001 they made two concepts for the new 03 cobra one was na 4.6 v8 with 380 hp and one had the lightning engine with 360 hp the 4.6 was faster because the 5.4 smoked the tires through 3 gears because of 410 torque. They eventually went with a 390 hp sc engine.

Anyways i would love to see a marauder with 400 hp or the cobra engine but it wont happen. But im getting rid of my 240 soon and buying a cobra you can't beat raw american muscle.

i know the newest Maurader has a 302hp engine, but the one coming out next yearhas like 400, or maybe 350, and its going to have a 5.0 engine. one mean looking car.

Could this be the famed BOSS 302? I heard they were gonna squeeze one more current chassis mustang out and drop in the BOSS 302, which is an aluminum variant of the venerable 5.0 liter. It was rumored to be coming out after the Mach1 model year. Some may wonder how they'd fit the 5.0 in the current mustang chassis(coz they had to shoehorn the 4.6 in there and chop the car to fit the 5.4), but it's narrower, and uses old school pushrod technology instead of overhead cams, hence it'll fit like a charm. WHY THE HELL didn't they put the 5.0 in the current mustang chassis?????

I had heard about the new BOSS mustang. Supposedly they are going tobe releasing a few Limited Edition models before the new 05 mustang(which just looks funny IMO) the Mach1 and the BOSS are the two i know of, but i think there was one more.

yea i like the new cobras, the o3 is the only one i'd own, and also, u seem to know mustangs, are the 5.4 liter cobra Rs supercharged or not??, and also, have fun with ur new cobra, and also, im sure someone oculd figure out how to launch the 5.4 without killing hte tires, give me a shot

Cobra R is NA 5.4 liter rated at 385HP. Interestingly enough, R&T has the numbers like this:

SVT Cobra:390HP, 0-60: 4.9 0-100: 11.11/4mile: [email protected]

SVT Cobra R:385HP, 0-60: 4.80-100: 10.91/4mile: [email protected]

that sounds about right if u ask me, and i was just aksing because i dunno if u ever play gt3 (im a car nut, anything with cars, i do) well the dam 5.4 v8 sounds like it has a supercharger whine SO much, and i know the lightning has a supercharger, but wasnt sure about the cobra R, anyway, the cobra R is my fav of all the mustangs, well that and the old saleen 351Es baby
