The ecu is the same between the s13 motors. I'm currently running a redtop ecu with my blacktop, while mine is out for a tune. Runs just the same.

he'll have to wait awhile before finding out. no one will let me borrow they're ecu so i have to purchase one hoping thats the problem. if its not the problem i'll have wasted money buying an ecu for nothing which is something i'd rather not do while being unemployed

I tested right at the injectors and had a constant voltage.

This was surprising and the electrical diagrams in the shop manual confirmed this to be the case. There is no relay anywhere in between the injectors and the battery.

Is the ground of the coil pack harness hooked up? The one usually found back behind the engine just underneath the valve cover.

thanks for the input but i feel like you didnt read some of posts. the 5 wire side of the ignitor chip plug has 12v when it shouldnt ever. the ground wire for the coil packs wouldn't cause this and they are grounded

All this would do is open the throttle body, allowing more air into the motor to burn the fuel (Just some FYI: If you look at a first gen DSM's owner's manual, it states that when starting the car, the operator should hold the accellerator pedal to the floor until the vehicle starts.)

Hey WC, long time no talk. Well, seeing as it has been a while since I have been on here I figured, seeing as you have helped me out so much throughout my swap (which is finished minus a recir/blow off valve), I would attempt to see if I could guide.

I ran into an issue of no fuel. Turns out the fuel lines just had LOTS of air in it.

But if I do remember, doesn't ECU receive signal from or to the ignitors? I am only throwing it out there because that (I think) is as far as I went.

Also, before purchasing ECU, did you have current moving TO the coil packs? I honestly can't remember what they read, but I remember checking it in my long search for what stopped mine from cranking.

Again - I had same problem as yours, it almost or not cranking. Apparently my cams were swapped in Japanland and timing wasn't set. And the air in the fuel line was in the way. . .

Hope it helps. . .If not, sorry. . . Its all I have got. . .
