You know the funny part about all this?telcoman wrote:Same with President Clinton. It is the right wingnuts that keep bringing it up over his indescretion with Monica. It was two hetrosexual adults having consentual sex. It was a personal and Hillary matter. If Hillary got over it so should all the wingnuts.
My wife (a Democrat) and I (a Republican) were watching him on television when [then President] Clinton was asked the key questions about his affair with Monica.
When he denied the allegations categorically in public, on television, the "that woman" response, etc., I turned to my wife and said that the President of the country could not be lying and therefore, the charges had to be false. She smiled and said that she still thought he was guilty.
Of course, later it turned out that she was right and I was wrong.
The point is that it was the lying under oath, as the President of the US, that tee'd me totally - I simply could not believe he had categorically denied it on television to the public (under oath, as I recall, but am not certain). He deserved to be impeached ... nothing to do with whether Hilary could let him off the hook or not.
