The only one I feel sorry for was the three year old little boy who had no control over the situation.

Saw this on the news today, very sad and unfortunate. They showed a picture of the Mustang and it was absolutely destroyed. :tisk:

Street racing is bad enough when you're the only person in the car, but multiple people is absolutely stupid. And they were in traffic as well.

Just an overall horrible situation. I can only imagine how those people's family feels.

How do you even cram 6 people into a mustang? I'd mention a stereotype but...

Easy. 2 kids in the front, 4 kids in the rear, one of which was a toddler, probably being held. The 4 in back evidently all got ejected (no seat belts.) The driver was an 18 yr old girl, with her 14(!?) yr old boyfriend. Pure stupidity on the drivers part. I'm not sure how else to describe it.

My track cars are just that, track cars. I dont take them out of the shop unless I'm going to an event or fueling them up. On public roads, I drive with respect to my fellow motorists.

Although the passengers were "adults" you can not say its their fault for the girl racing. She could have went for it, without telling the passengers. So there is a chance that they didnt know that they were fixing to be racing. I believe we have all went through that phase at a young age, but it is the smart people that leave that phase before hurting themselves or others.

They willingly took the car without permission, they willingly crammed more people into this car than they had seat belts, they willingly put the life of that baby in harm's way. That was a dangerous situation even if she wasn't racing. Just because people are young doesn't mean that they get a free pass to be a dumb a**. You can't justify this in any shape, form, or fashion.

Totally agreed. :tisk:

The 18 year old should have known way better than this ... particularly when carrying a 3 year old along for the trip.

No seat belts leads to deadly results in such accidents.

God damnit. I hate humanity. Darwin, for once, took one that didn't need to go. He can keep the rest of the people in the car.

s*** like this is what makes me question everything. Poor kid. Nobody has mentioned this part yet, but what must his mother be going through right now? To know that her baby was dead because of a bunch of air-headed teenagers. I'd be way past insane.

What is even worse in this situation is that the ones to blame are all gone. How do you seek retribution when the culprit is dead too?

I was tempted to street race in my early years, but refrained. In my case I had friends die from racing. It is a shame what happened but this will always be the case when you think luck is on your side when it is just stupidity, and we know you can't fix stupid.

Thread revival.

Anyways, I don't know why people think it's a good idea to race. Do thy even think about it before they do it? It's totally not worth it.

A few months ago, I saw a couple SUV's racing on the highway. They were nearly running people off the road and had to have been going around 90mph in medium traffic. The guy in the Volvo got so carried away with passing someone that he ended up past the shoulder, on the grass before he jerked back onto the road, kicking up a bunch of dirt in the process. People are scary.

Another reason why I know karma doesn't exist.

Also, I don't think the rear passengers are to be blamed or be bad mouthed. They don't have a license and won't know any better. The driver is the one who's in control and aged beyond them and just listened to their older sister and her boyfriend, who by the way is the one who took the car. To be honest, the boyfriend of the 18 year old probably egged her on after she mentioned something about racing and the rest were along for the ride with no say.

Truth is, NONE of us were there to see the events leading up to it, so you really shouldn't feel so cold hearted to ALL of them or a chosen one.

Rot in hell for the driver, possibly her boyfriend. Rest in peace little man. Or haunt the survivors who might've instigated the situation as well, you choose y0!
