Fred. I think you should either get some snow tires for your Q or get the maxima, or possibly a smaller car, g20, possibly. I don't think you really want to spend that much money on a car( and I know you think that too) at this point in your life. Granted, a G35 is a very nice car, but is it really worth the money? If you're gonna keep the Q, you muight as well drive it. I really don't believe in having a daily driver other than your so-called pimp ride., unless it's a full blown race car that's not street legal. Slowly modding a car does not create a need for a daily driver.

Fred, you mentioned that you have yet to buy a house. Since you're in the millitary, you've gotta ask yourself if you're gonna be in the same spot long enough to warrant buying one. I think that should be considered if getting a home is a concern. Anyway, if you can swing the cash for the G, I'd go w/ C. I know I'd have a 6M G35 in my driveway in a heartbeat if I could afford it.

me thinks the max is the best soultion to the above query , you wont cry as much destorying a bone stock maxima , whereas you may just cry looseing a second Q to old man winter ...THAT BASTURD!!!

and g20s are NOT good winter cars , go for the max dude if i had to pick either a vette or a g20 as a winter car the vette would be safer

Winter here is not that bad.The G20 would be about the same as the Maxima if both do not have TC.The G20 may have heated leather seats which is a big + on winter days.

i still dont like it as a winter car , the heater always sucked , and it was very prone to the rear stepping out , maybe if he places winter tires all the way around it it wouldnt be as bad , im not kidding when i say our 2wd diesel chevy was eaier to drive , its funny tho as the G is front wheel drive , but in winter it acts like its rear drive with a 500 hp big block under the hood , my buddy used to say " there it goes pulling a rear drive impression"

G20s are kickass summer cars , winter just isnt there thing tho

I still say stick with the Q. That way all the money you save you can spend on high comp pistons!!! Hehehe

Fred,I picked (a) but I would also consider a different car than an old Maxima. How about an old beater that gets really good gas mileage and doesn't require premium grade fuel?

If you have a place to put the Q , get the Maxima.

Keeping the Q nice and clean and out of elements for the winter is good.

If you can afford it, get the G.

But maybe wait until spring to buy.

go max. iron block right over the front wheels. they have pretty good traction for a 2wd vehicle.

well, I'd say go for the G35 since you aren't done moving yet and interest rates on toys are GREAT!! I personally don't have a house yet either; hell, I don't even have an apartment, I'm currently homeless but have 3 vehicles, 1 paid for and two with great interest rates. I am waiting to buy a house until rates go up some, prices come down some, and I can write of a little more interest. I say GO FOR IT!! it'll allow you to dedicate the Q more to whatever it is you do with it for fun and that is a great thing...

There's nothing like racing when you KNOW you have a back-up car in case you break something.

Sorry Fred. I tried to talk some sense into my dad, but he really loves his maxima and doesnt want to get rid of it. Kinda of funny how just the other day i recomended a honda civic to you as a winter car, and you said you " I could never do that, im sticking to nissan". Then know your talking about a Ford?!? Anyways just trying to give you a hard time.:D the ford sounds like a good deal to me but i would rather you drive a nissan.

shamlessplug: Theres still my Porsche 944 that you could buy for $4000 :D
