Im being told that im not going to get any compensation for my car. My insurance policy was just liability. And i was told that cars with liability only get compensated for injuries within the car. The insurance call it a default or something like that. So looks like im not getting anything.

man things like this are never good to hear

good thing no one was put in critical condition..or evn killed..like adrian said. "Cars come and go, but people don't"

you'll be up and running in no time.. finding a s13 isnt as hard as some ppl make it out to be

Change your name to Totalled_ChukiCoupe?

That really, really blows. I'm glad to hear that girl is okay. Where I live, seatbelt laws are pretty strict. The driver is responsible for everyone in the car under 16 to be wearing their seatbelt, if you are over 16 then you are responsible.

And there's another reason to hate buicks, and the old men that drive them.

im sorry to hear about your car accident, that is pretty unfortunate. im also sorry to hear your passenger was hurt, at least she wasnt seriously injured.

well, im sure this whole experience must be pretty discouraging, just dont give up on cars. believe me, I have been through plenty of accidents (some life-threatening) but that only seems to make my love for cars grow even more.

just keep at it.

I would to save the car, but one in all costs from towing the donor car paying the junkyard, the shop time and all that, it would come out to more than i originally payed for the car which is 1200. And itd prolly cost as much as me buying a new coupe or even an s14.
Donor car at junk yard = $200.Tools for cutting rear quarter = $50 ( 4" grinder with cutting wheel)Labor time to put the car on jacks and replace sub frame = 6 hrs (estimated 1 man job)required tools to put in the rear quarter panel = rented welder, grinder, primer spray can, sander

Best part of all this. A new paint job. ($200 to $1000)

Your car doesn't need to die dude. If you want S-14, fix this and sell it for much more than parts (about $300 for a parts car)

I'd buy your car if it's here in JAX and fix it up to re-sell.

I love your way of estimating this repairs... Too bad it wont ever be the same. Unibodies aren't worth fixing. That side impact is far from repairs. Sure you can make it look like new, but it will never drive straight and your frame will be weak, flexed, etc. That side fender is part of the structural support for both your wheel wells, roof, hatch, and provides resistance to flexing.

Anyways, other than the places were theres blood, the engine + drive train$400-500, fenders$40, hood$55, bumper $50, doors$60, dash$80-100, console$25, and misc$200. parts will get you around $800-1000. <-Better estimate as I've done this to my car and have been selling parts on a regular basis this past 2 years.

Whats that supposed to mean. Coupes rule!

To the person above me no im not fixing it, Im keeping it till i get my n exk coupe then transferring w.e parts i may need. Then ill decide if to sell it a junkyard, part it out, or whoever wants to buy it. I may donate most parts i dont use to my highschool or even mayb the whole car.

Damn dude that sucks to see a smashed coupe But as far as the insurance deal..I believe liability works like this..if its your faulght, the insurance pays for injuries and repairs to the other parties car and not yours..but if you were not a faulght then your golden. what did the police report say?

I was told that also. I also heard since the guy had a suspended license he automatically takes the rap for the accident. I dunno, but im glad i think i found a new coupe.

sorry to here about that man. good job on finding another coupe so fast. all black is sechs . im not a coupe guy but its awesome ur so devoted to em. i sympathize with ya though. my hatch was totaled this past winter, not my fault. i got $2400 out of it and i only have the minimum coverage like you so as long as ur not found at fault u should be fine. i fixed mine though (only body panels, not like urs) and just got it back on the road legally. goin in for paint this week

thanks white comet.

Could someone clarify for me if they know. Even if the accident was found my fault, the other driver had a suspended license. Does that mean he automatically takes the blame?

thats rough man, i always hated driving around under those train tracks and those supports, then again from jersey we dont have stuff like that.

good thing you and your friend are ok, hopefully the girl recovers and everything is fine, that had to be traumatizing.

Is that a CF hood, and if it is, interested in selling it? I have an extra hood I can throw on there if need be and I can pick up the CF one ASAP. im in northern NJ, BK is right around the corner.

aim = robotsdobreathe email = [email protected] if you want to talk about it.

1. He hit you behind the driver's door, which is usually considered to be rear-ending. The driver who is rear-ended is almost never at fault as the courts (at least in VA and NJ, where I've worked traffic) see it.

2. If he has a suspended license and is the driver in an accident, it's automatically considered to be that he is at fault, because he has no legal right to be behind the wheel.

3. See number 1.
