Donor car at junk yard = $200.Tools for cutting rear quarter = $50 ( 4" grinder with cutting wheel)Labor time to put the car on jacks and replace sub frame = 6 hrs (estimated 1 man job)required tools to put in the rear quarter panel = rented welder, grinder, primer spray can, sanderScuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:
I would to save the car, but one in all costs from towing the donor car paying the junkyard, the shop time and all that, it would come out to more than i originally payed for the car which is 1200. And itd prolly cost as much as me buying a new coupe or even an s14.
Whats that supposed to mean. Coupes rule!DechYe wrote:At least it was a coupe.
I would be extremely angry if I my car was hit escepcially when I haven't even owned for 2 months.
Don't be naive... Get a lawyer and take the dude's house. Glad no one was injured too seriously.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:Im being told that im not going to get any compensation for my car. Damn dude that sucks to see a smashed coupe But as far as the insurance deal..I believe liability works like this..if its your faulght, the insurance pays for injuries and repairs to the other parties car and not yours..but if you were not a faulght then your golden. what did the police report say?Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:Im being told that im not going to get any compensation for my car. I was told that also. I also heard since the guy had a suspended license he automatically takes the rap for the accident. I dunno, but im glad i think i found a new coupe.VirginiaPS13 wrote:Damn dude that sucks to see a smashed coupe But as far as the insurance deal..I believe liability works like this..if its your faulght, the insurance pays for injuries and repairs to the other parties car and not yours..but if you were not a faulght then your golden. what did the police report say?
1. He hit you behind the driver's door, which is usually considered to be rear-ending. The driver who is rear-ended is almost never at fault as the courts (at least in VA and NJ, where I've worked traffic) see it.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:Could someone clarify for me if they know. Even if the accident was found my fault, the other driver had a suspended license. Does that mean he automatically takes the blame?
