Right now I'm currently running the setup of 205/50/r16's.

I want to upgrade to 225/50/r16's for rubber and buy some rims as well.

Local dealers only carry 4x114.3 rims with the width of 7 and an offset of +40 or +45.

Does anyone currently run anything near this setup? Is it going to require any body modifications .. ?

What "look" are you going for? If you want anything semi flush, you want to start looking for different rims.

If you look around online you will find better fitting rims then those battleship sizes you posted.

Lastly, 16" tires are more expensive then 17's 90% of the time. Move to some decent sizes now and you won't regret anything down the road.

dont waste the money on rims with that width and offset.somthing along the lines of a 17x9 +20 or +15 look nice and are still conservative. youll only need a slight fender roll.save some more dollars and do it right the first time, you will be much happier...scour local forums and ebay etc. for decent wheels. also check the fitment thread for examples

Yes the overall look I'm trying to achieve is flushness.

With that being said it doesn't have to be made jdm tyre yo flush.

My current setup I can camp out in between the gap of my fender and wheel...

The offsets of those rims is what throws me off...

Look for a set of 17x8 or 17x8.5 or 17x9syou can run a 225 on a 17x 8-9, but a 235-245 would be better on the 9

offsets you should look for are +15-25mm offset. +30 in the 9 will suffice in the rear, for the look your asking for.

Better yet, for what your asking for, a set of staggered Sportmaxes would meet your needsCost effective, and comes in offsets i think you would be happy with (since you dont want JDM flushness)

Sportmax's in 17x8.5 +35 and 17x9.5 +35, and they have the 17x7.5 and 17x9.5

but if you wanna be cool.buy 17x9.5 all round. w/ +35 offset. Wont be Ubur flush, but better than those 16s

another choice is the MB line.they make 17x9inch wheels in Low offsets.+15-27 i think?

so there you go. some choices that can be had for under a grand Wheels+Tires

yeah, the MB's do look good...try the 17x9.5 +15...they look nearly perfect and you dont need more camber to tuck'em in.theres an offset calculator around the net somewhere, just inches to mm. if you go with a rim thats only 7 or 8 inches wide, youre going to be looking for a near +0 offset, maybe even negatives.

ha point that face in another direction guy. i gave him advice 3rd post. he wasnt asking about wheels he wanted to know about HIS setup and how itd work out fitment wise.well, obviously the fitment would be s***...so alternatives were given. and id be willing to bet he's already considering a 5 lug swap. the wheels you brought forth, have better fitment but the quality(edit: 5zigen makes good wheels) and designs suck a**. now having said that, OP- 5lug swap, good fitting wheels, fender roll = dope. love it.

haha, I wasn't trying to start anything with you at all man

I've seen pictures of broken rotas, but then I've seen then rocked hard. I think there was a thread about it earlier. And yea knock-offs suck for the people that have the money to buy the real thing, because it makes the product theyre buying less exclusive. But theyre great for the broke people like me Thats all I was poking at

I dunno... I guess you took my question to you as a personal attack or something... It wasn't. The OP specifically asked about 4 lug options and ppl started talking about MB's, which as far as I know are only 5 lug. I just wanted some clarity, in case you knew about some good fitting 4 lug MB wheel that I didn't.
PieRat wrote: Yes the overall look I'm trying to achieve is flushness. My current setup I can camp out in between the gap of my fender and wheel... The offsets of those rims is what throws me off...
No amount of well chosen width/offset is going to get rid of wheelgap, OP. If you don't have coilovers yet, I recommend getting some before you upgrade your wheels. Because wheelgap will make even properly sized wheels look like a$$. And no strut/spring setup is gonna eliminate that wheelgap for ya.

+22 on a 9 on s13 will most likly require a roll and maybe a pull(depending on tier size)

I'd stay around +20-25ish on a 9inch wheel if you dont want to mess with the fenders/QP's

OM3GAi dont think he wants to do too much fender modifying judging from what he asked.

8 inch width with +15offset is straight flush with the fender on s13. 0 sticks out just a little. 17x9 +15 or 20 would be pretty nice.

Using what kind of tire setup?

-------------------

I should of originally asked for pictures .. which would help to visualize.

----I appreciate all the feedback and it has helped. Most are suggesting moving onto a 17" rim.

What are the advantages of going with a 17" over a 16"? I checked tire prices and I didn't notice much of a price range.

I was comparing Falken Azenis rt615 and or the fk452's.

OP, maybe I'm stupid and I missed where you said it... But what chassis is this for? Whether I recommend 17's versus 18's depends on know this...

If we're talking about the car in your sig, most ppl will recommend 17's because it is an increase over your stock 15 inch wheel diameter by two inches. If you icrease your wheel diameter, you must decrease your tire profile size to retain your original rolling diameter. A 40 profile size tire will allow you to do that and still be relatively comfortable to drive on. If you went up to an 18 inch wheel, you'd need a 35 profile tire and that starts to feel a bit harsh.

Also, 240's can fit a fair amount of wheel under it's fenders. This would be super agressive, but it is possible to fit 10 inch wide wheel under stock fenders up front and 11 inches wide in the back. So why settle for some rinky-dink pizza cutter thin wheel. A 9 inch wide wheel is a nice happy medium. And if you select an offset around +20 you should be able to fit it under stock fenders without any fender work as long as tou pick the right tire size.

For a 17x9+20 wheel, I'd recommend a 235/40/17 tire. But if you're cautious about fitment, you could stretch on a smaller tire, like a 225/40/17 just to make sure it would clear. But I'm certain 17x9+20 with 235/40/17 would not give you clearance problems at your current ride height. When you go lower, you might want a really simple newspaper fender roll or something.

The tire size selection for 16's is terrible versus the selection for 17's and 18's, BTW. Find a wheel that you like from the list I provided earlier and we'll give you more precise sizing recommendations. And maybe pics of other ppl running something similar...

The chassis is a 240sx coupe.

Out of the wheels you originally posted I like the Rota's .. either bronze/black/gun metal.

Duh. Which 240sx coupe? S13 or S14?

And which Rota's? I threw up three different Rota wheels up there... Be more specific.
