szhosain,

Is the clock suppose to light up orange at night to and match the other interior lights? I have seen other clocks in interior pics that have the clock glowing orange. My clock ( 03 M), lights up white, and does not match the rest of the interior lights. Could it possibly have the wrong bulb installed, have you changed the bulb before?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I have taken the clock out and inspected the bulbs, they both work. However, I do not understand why my clock lights up white, and all of pictures of others clocks are lit up orange and match the remaining interior lights. Do you think that someone could of installed the incorrect bulbs at one point. Is the clock suppose to light up white or orange in an 03 M45?

Thanks for any help, CD

Hmmm ... you know, I have never thought about the color on my 2003 M45 clock face - I think it is a white light, but ... I will look at it again when it is dark tonight and let you know!

There are two different options for the bulbs...

2003 bulbs: $11 each 2004 bulbs: $8.50 each

Clutchkick, Are the 03 and 04 lights the same , but the 03's are white, and the 04's are orange? I think that is where the difference is, my 03 has a white back light and does not match the rest of the interior lights. I have seen pictures of M45's with a orange back light, they must be 04's. Do you think I can just replace my bulbs with the 04 bulbs to make the lights match the rest of the interior? The white light just doen't look good at night. I took my bulbs out to check them, they are clear with a blue rubber coating on them? Does that sound like mabe the incorrect bulb?

Thanks, CD

You hae to remove the center panel with the controls and knobs. You can pry it up carefully with something flat. I used a putty knife with a rag over it. After you remove the control panel, there are two screws that secure the clock, that is it, it is pretty easy. The lights need to be turned and come out of the back of the clock.

Clutchkick, Can I order the bulbs that light up orange from you, or can you provide me with the correct part # to pick up the orange bulbs from my local dealer?

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Clutchkick, Did you ever find out anything about the two different lightbulbs? I know that the clock is suppose to light up orange to match the rest of the interior lights, but for some reason mine is white, it must have the wrong bulbs installed.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, CD

Where can I purchase a replacement bulb for the clock. The dealership is saying that I can only replace the clock itself for $400.00.

Have a question. Can I get the plexiglass surface separately as a spare? And has anyone changed the light to a different color?

I wouldn't mind a slight bluish tinged light honestly

The diagram ClutchKick provided only shows one bulb for the clock? Where is the other one placed?

My clock changes intensity when I tap the plexiglass. I think if there are two bulbs, one of mine is flaking-out...

Anyone have the correct part # for these.

CLUTCH, where you at on this? Hook it up haha. JK but it you have those pics of the bulbs that would be great cause I took my old ones out and know exactly what they look like. Let me know............... Boon

Boon, Thanks for bringing this back up. I called the dealer, and they ordered new bulbs for my clock. When I went to the dealer to pick them up ( $30) they were the exact bulbs that I removed from my clock that light the clock up with white light, not orange.I have seen so many pictures of 03 M's clock lit up orange, and it drives me crazy that my clock lights up white, it does not match the interior lighting and sticks out badly.

Thank you in advance for anyone with the correct info to track down the bulbs for this clock that light up orange!!!
