An attractive new GM that's not a Cadillac?!

The Japanese and Koreans might want to take note of what GM has done here: they've taken successful cues from successful cars and combined them in their own work. But the difference is that the Malibu is no impersonator. It doesn't come across as a gaudy charicature. Instead, it may very well be the most successful melding of "the right stuff" in it's corner of the family hauler segment in years.

Wait a minute, your'e saying that Korean car companies should take note of GM taking styling cues from other car companies in making the new Malibu? jiminichristmas that's ALL THEY DO! All they do is copy other car companies' styling efforts.

I personally don't like it but it is a$$loads better than the previous Malibu. This one you wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in at least.

I'm saying that GM actually made an attractive, unique looking car with that strategy, something none of those other copycat-only companies has managed to date. All the Lexuses, Kias, Hyundais, and Daewoos out there that have stolen Mercedes Benz and Jaguar styling look like crap. They look like bad imitations, wannabes. The Malibu has managed to take cues from nicer cars and do it's own thing instead of looking like some cheap knockoff.
