you people make me proud to want to turbo a ka... esp with parts like these soon to be available to the public.. why dish out $$ for a jdm motor when we can make a ka just as potient...

great job and i can appreciate the time and effort being put into this. my only issue i could say with this is the mandatory use of the top feed injectors. i know for fact that most ka-t's are running sidefeeds for their setups. now granted the superior fuel rail and fuel system involves the use of top feed injectors, i just figure that perhaps there could be another version that doesn't require the use of them? not trying to bash the product as it seems that this is being designed strictly for a race app and it is a quality product but just wondering if yall had any thoughts about that?

PS. i don't blame yall for designing it like that as it would only make sense for a company to have its products complement each other (ie. your fuel system + your intake mani should equal the optimal results)

We need a test mule for the dyno testing so we put all our efforts into getting a working turbo kit out first. Now that we have any hint of boost creep eliminated, we can start testing.

Its awesome to have a TRUE dyno chart that is not influenced by changes in boost levels.

Our first order of business will be testing the Crower V2 and V3 cams at 10, 15 and 20 psi along with possible cam timing changes.

Once we have an accurate idea of the VE of the motor with the stock intake, we will be testing our intake manifolds.

Dont worry, it wont be too long. I am planning on going into the shop tomorrow to swap out Chris's GT32 for a 50 trim to test the differences in spool and power output. We also plan on trying to get the cam testing done tomorrow.

there is one thing i don't understand. I know a lot of complicated stuff goes into making intake manifolds. But, the 240 has been around for a decade and a half and we are NOW seeing someone make a quality intake mani. That is kind of dissapointing. Great job by AMS though. They see something that not to many companies feel like improving and they improve it for the masses. Major props from me.

I know a lot of people make efforts to tune s14's. Will this manifold also work for the s13's engine bay. If it does than i will give both my kidneys for it.

It is being developed on an s13 (mine). So to answer your question, yes

The retail price should be somewhere around a kidney and a half, so you can save that other half a kidney to put towards our turbo kit!

The KA had no JDM enthusiast market. All of the aftermarket parts for the RB, CA and SR originated in Japan. Believe me, the SR would be in the exact same place today if it was a stateside only motor option.

The KA intake manifold is good for most low to mid boost power levels. But I'll specualte and say it will really shine when you start using boost higher the 15 psi. With the V series cams and that intake manifold, the top end will be a whole new monster. With the appropriate motor work, I think the KA is a short step away from seeing 8000+ rpm runs on a regular basis. Not just Ivans drag car

Chris, quit posting in this thread and get back to work!!!!

What else would need to be done to run 8000 rpms regularly? I read that many people suggest not going over 7200 and not just because of power dying off either...

Yeah, what he said!As most of you guys know, I lost my job just before Christmas, so it's been an awesome opportunity for me to get working on my project. The wife's Active Duty, so we have a house and food...(what else do you need?...besides beer) And upon losing my job, I have a small amount in my retirement plan that I'm gonna take out. Hopefully a little over 2g's. So yeah, get to work! I want a nice pretty intake, and tubular exhaust mani on my motor before it goes in! And if the GT28RS sells, I'll be buying even more stuff!

Git own' eat mang'!!

I need to toss the car on the dyno real quick to make sure we have a good baseline run, and then we will be putting on the intake.

I too was curious and sent an email... this was the response.

We did not gather enough people for this. In fact you are the first one to show any serious interest. I do not think it will be possible to get these into production.

Thanks

Chris

It's not that noone was serious.. It's the money. AT least that's what my issue is/was. I still give props to AMS. They've always been there since day one of my KA-T endeavors.

I think chris told me that if 5 people got their cash together and paid up front they would make them as a limited production.

It is the sickest manifold ever. Call them directly for any information on it. I think this thread is gonna get locked.

Thats right, I need 5 people who can pony up half of the cost of the manifold so that I can justify getting the runners made...

$750 would be the initial cost with the rest due on manifold completion...

For some reason, there has been a bunch of interest on it lately, get some of your buddies together and maybe we can still make this happen!
