ok guys im back! i admit my first post about the j30 was crap! Freaking junk! slackest post ever by anyone! I was high as hell though so you gotta at least give me that...oh and i got the motivation lifted for new j-car owners...maybe not. ok for serious though here on out.............

I own a 94 J30t and a 1986 Nissan Pickup (not 86 1/2 mine is not a hard body). I dont too much car about the 86, but the J-car is another story. I have played with the idea of adding turbos i have 2 sitting in the other room from a 300zx tt. VG30DETT. My friend upgraded his turbos (lucky *****) so he gave me his stock ones. They do me no good!!!!!!! Sorry im way off my subject post freaking ADD makes me tell 500 stories at once, and woe to the readers...lol (see what i mean)....

Ok now this is for everyone here from the pathfinders to the G35 coupes HOW CAN WE STREET RACE WITH FREAKING COBRAS, TA's, and Zo6's beside us??? What do we have to do not to get lost in the world wind of HP to the wheels from these American beasts?? Im from the US but I refuse to buy an US made car (plus nissan of america (columbia SC) is on freaking point the last 9 years)...So im open to all negative and positive remarks HOW CAN WE WIN???

if i start to get in the way with my off the wall stories then just holla and ill be gone....ninja style

you....you kind of sound like you're on crack, yer all over the place. What exactly is your question? How can Infiniti beat American cars in a streetrace? who cares, maybe it's possible, but i bought an infiniti for comfort. Even if it is powerful and goes fast, i don't care about beating a cobra or a viper sitting next to me. To those people who drive expensive american muscle cars, congratulations, you own a fast car. Excuse me while i turn on my heated seats and relax while i enjoy where im going.

You want power..... Get a Q...... They will wipe about any car out there, unless its HEAVILY modified, or if its a real sportscar (Ferrari, porsche, NEWER corvette)...

^that's a joke. I Q would be destroyed by a camaro Z28, mustang gt, T/A WS6, WS7, Formua Firebird 5.7, Corvette any gen (with exception to early 80's and non L82 C3's. You have greatly overestimated the abilities of your Q. A Q and a GTP would be a good race, that's about all the Q has. It's a "luxary" heavy *** car, I actually have no love for the Q. I think they are ugly and a waste of money. If you want a fast car, get a T/A. They are just as nice and would totally roast a Q. The Q45 is definitely a grandma car, more marauder like than muscle car like anything else.

I would take my 240 over a Q all day long. I love american muscle cars and would trade my 240 for a mustang 5.0 in a heartbeat.

You picked the WRONG place to start saying stuff about the Q.....

The Q has proven many times to be a quick car, regardless of its weight.... Sure, its not a RACE car, but at highway speeds, Id like to see something that would KILL it...... Sure, it may pull on it, but it wont just blow its doors off.....

Ok, it may not WIPE everything out there, but it will definitely stay with about anything..... PRETTY DAMN GOOD FOR A NEAR 5000 lb car.....

And if you dont like the Q, thats OK, your decision...... but Ill take your 240 any day.....

If I wanted a really fast car, I definitely wouldnt have gotten a Q.... I got it because I want to be comfortable and then have some power......

Actually you are very wrong, aside from the Z06 you mentioned the Q is a reall as# kicker from a 50-75 mph roll as it drops down to 2nd and rockets ahead like a bullet, I have ran 3 GM cars, the 98 Z28 with exhaust and gear was close up tp 115 thats when the Q startd to pull away nice and easy, the GTP was another highway run however he didnt have the steam to run with the Q up top, then the 92 Vette that got his *** handed to him, do your homework before you start babbling. And oh yeah even modded Mustangs have gone down in flames.

Plus.. When in a Q, you are riding in ultimate comfort and luxuary..... not a buzzing little tiny engine about ready to 'splode.....

Thing is, Qs can take about anything fully stock..... There arent many cars besides sports cars with big engines that can take a Q stock.....

I am baffled about this thread all together. First there is a crazy post to get the ball rolling, then a post or two about bashing the Q45. WTF??

I will post about the US muscle cars. I just sold my 74 454 4-speed Vette that had about 400lbs of tq(after the motor rebuild). It was an awesome car.It was not refined and the fit and finish was a bit sad.Would I buy another US car? Sure if I ran into the right one (ZR1,96 collector edition,Z06,96 Impalla SS,Viper,ect...) It would have to be a good deal for me to buy one of those but it is possible.

Right now I am searching for a good deal on a 2003 350z because I want to keep it Nissan. No its not the fastest car in the price range but sometimes its not all about speed.;)

Altiman.

Even if I conced your stament to be true ( and I am not sure I do), THOSE ARE ALL SPORTS CARS, a different class of vehcile not proper for comarison.

You need to comapre with BMW 735i, 740i, MB S-class, etc etc.For example a 2k3 G35 vs a Caddy CTS ( both approx same price).

A 1991 Q vs a 1991 BMW 735 vs a 1991 LS400 vs a 1991 MB S400:The Q wins in <any> measurment of performance.Throw in a 1991 Z28 for fun and the Q still wins.

last summer I arced a chipped 91 Q a lot.Usually took all comers to incclude Mustang GT's in real road races.

A 2k2 Z28 or WS6 would have eaten me alive but hardly a fair comparison but those cars are desigend for speed ONLY and so much newer.

I believe Elwesso stated FIRST that the Q could wipe out "any car out there unless heavily modded" :rolleyes Then Altiman was just responding to that.

Yep, there are a few high buck BMW and MB that can do away with a Q45, until they need service.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

i also own a 93 mustang gt (PLEASE, SOMEONE BUY THE THING!!!LOL), with lower miles than my Q, and the Q wins hands down, in all aspects of acceleration. plus the comfort, build quality, and fit and finnish is in another class. in respects to the sports cars mentioned, it's like comparing apples and oranges. as i write, i'm getting ready to take my girlfriend out to dinner. nice feeling to pull up to a restaurant, get out of the classy looking Q with your wife/girlfriend, AND know that you can smoke most cars on the road and at least keep up with the rest. when i was a little younger i thought ANYTHING with four doors was a grandparents car, but if you ever drive a well-maintained Q, you'll be amazed. a true wolf in sheeps clothing. I'm jonesing to throw down with a stock q in my t bird and see how it'll compare to one. It should be fun!

I agree completely with the Q being in a different class from what it's currently being compared with in here.

Fox body GT's are pretty weak cars from the factory, had Ford not been lame, the SuperCoupe would've torn them a new one stock for stock. The 5.0 however carries the advantage of being incredibly cheap to make fast, I'm not sure how cheap the Q is to mod, but I know the damn T Bird can be pricey:(

are there any forced induction kits for the Q? that'd be some funny stuff to have...

I know the Q is no slouch, but it better be running quicker than 15's in the 1/4 to get ****y.

Since when is "(c)ock" filtered? Weird.

Altiman - Since you have come into MY house disrespecting MY car, let me clarify something for you:

First of all, if a T/A is your idea of an "impressive" car, there's no reason for me to waste my time convincing you otherwise. Any idea of the curb weight of one? Try this on for size: Over 3800 pounds. It's an F-body car, a design that hasn't changed since 1984. Iron block, SOHC, archaic pushrod engine. Real high-tech. :rolleyes

Second: You're dissing on a car that runs high 15's in the quarter and can run 160 mph all day long, AND is pretty much unbeatable by ANYTHING under $100K from a 60 mph punch. Find me a T/A that'll do that and carry four passengers comfortably.

Third: When your beloved T/A can roll for over 100K miles and actually be FASTER than the day it rolled out of the showroom, I'll buy you one of your choice. Most likely it'll be a cheap bet for me, since it'll be ready for the boneyard.

Fourth: I can't comment on appearance, as that's a matter of taste. But the "starwars" look from Pontiac went out in 1987 - They just never got the memo....

You've repeatedly proven to the members of this forum that you know jack about cars. Do yourself a favor - Put down the "SuperStreet" magazine and learn something about the cars you discuss. You'll stay out of hot water, and you might actually make a friend or two.

p.s. I'll be posting your "240" comment in the 240 General forum - Those guys haven't been fed in a few days, i'm sure they'll eat that up.

I will race any Q in the entire world in the twisties.. I would rather have a car that handles well over a huge "luxary" car. I hardly consider a Q a luxary car. My uncle has a 95 Q45T and my dad drives a 03 330ci. Needless to say, the 330ci has won every race vs. the Q, and I personally enjoy the BMW's interior and the overall experience I have than that of the Q45. I like a car to feel nimble, but quick at the same time. Not to mention, BMW's or any German car for that matter have a much better external styling than infiniti does, with the exception of the G35 SEDAN (which I really love and hope to own one someday). As for the muscle car reply I made, the original post was about buying an infiniti vs. a muscle car, that's why I named off the cars I did. I don't care how fast a car goes 55-75. I care about how fast that same car can go 0-160. I hardly ever encounter highway races. I would rather destroy a car off the line and continue on up to 160-plus mph than wait for a rolling start from 55 mph.

And the tuning potential of a 5.0 mustang is much greater than that of a Q45 not to mention the cost of the mustang parts would be 10 times cheaper as well. There are many many more modded 5.0's in the world than Q45's. I think the "grandama-ness" of the Q45 definitely contributes to that. I really have no love for the Q45.

High 15's in the quarter is hardly fast. Give me a LS1 Camaro 6 spd, and I'll run 12's.

I don't know why you guys think your cars are the ****. I know my 240sx isn't anything special. I wanted one because I wanted a cheap rwd car, but didn't want to pay the insurance on the mustang. Go ahead and post my comment, I invite you too. It's the raw truth, I would take a 5.0 mustang over my 240 7 days out of the week, 365 days out of the year. The mustang was my first love and just because I bought a 240sx doesn't mean I'm commpltely in love with it. It's actually been nothing but problems for me.
