2007 Altima Hybrid
From Full tank --->
@3/4 tank - 270 miles
@1/2 tank - 444 miles
@1/4 tank - 560 miles
@Riding on "E" - 683 miles

OK these numbers is from driving insanely efficient (no one would ever drive this way on a daily basis)
BY:
- Using the most out of slow driving
- Buying expensive gasoline (cleaner fuel)
- Getting expensive oil changes with high end oil and air filter.
- Efficient driving on the freeways (going on a steady 40mpg-60mpg on the built in gauge)
- Driving 80% of the time in the city.

Normal driving:
From full tank -->
@3/4 tank - 200 miles
@1/2 tank - 270-310 miles
@1/4 tank - 360-400 miles
@Riding on "E" - 490-580 miles (this depends how far I stretch it out)

Conclusion: My goal was 700, since its not realisitc to drive strictly on battery power every time I drive, its extremely difficult. Anyone that can reach 700 good job.

New member, Altima Hybrid owner since Oct 2009. Recent milage showing only 28 mpg. When new car got 33 mpg according to car computer, but my manual calculations showed approximately 31 mpg at that time. Due to recent concern over gas price increases and what seemed to be more trips to the gas station, I am now checking milage and the car computer is showing 28 mpg; this mostly in city driving, I don't drive fast nor am I heavy on the pedal with the foot; just drive as I have driven the same since new.

Hi all, new to the forum. We bought our Altima Hybrid just before the end of 2010 and after 1800 miles have avg'd 32.1 mpg...not bad considering we traded our 08 Pathfinder V6 getting roughly 16 mpg, for the hybrid....winner in the trade column!!

According to the computer I average about 32.5 ... been able to get 36 but tank to tank typical driving the average has been 32.5

2011 Fully loaded - good combo of highway and city with an lean towards long distance highway.

My First post.... Awwww

Anyway, I have a 2009 that I bought a little over a year ago with 47k on the clock. I now have over 100,500! My wife's older children live over 350 miles away and I work about 49 miles from the house so this car gets alot of use. On my trips to and from work I drive through about 25 miles of rural farm land, rolling hills and little back roads before the stop and go of the more urban roads and the Interstate. The speed limits are between 25 ( only about 3 miles) and 50 on the back roads and 50 - 65 on the remainder of the trip. I regularly get around 38+. My current tank is averaging 41! I had been driving a 2003 Pruis before and I have noticed that when the outdoor temp is between 54 and 68 I get the best mileage. I attribute that to the fact that HVAC does not have to run and (as silly as this may sound) the air is less dense than in the winter (that whole hot air is less dense thus rises, cold air more dense thus settles) so the wind resistance is slightly less. I know I will probably hear from a bunch of engineering types explaining why it is the HVAC and the air density has nothing to do with it, but anyway enough of that. I have also noticed that if you are of the mind to draft large trucks (I do not recomend box trucks because you cannot be seen if you are too close) tanker trucks are the best. First you can see the mirrors and the driver can see you (big plus) but there is something about the vortex from that cylinderical tank that just seems to pull you along. I used to drive the Dulles Greenway daily and there is nothing more satisfying than drafting an Exxon truck in a Pruis while averaging 75MPG over a 10 mile stretch! Since the Altima will not allow the car to run in EV mode above 42MPH I know I will never get that in it but on the other hand, the Altima is a much nicer ride than my Prius was. (BTW, Since the Altima uses the Toyota technology, this is probably relevant; When my ex traded the Prius it had over 254k on it, never had a battery replacement and still got 48 - 52 on a regular basis.) I run 87 octane from Oceanic or Jiffy Mart/Shell with the ocasional Sheetz if I'm really low (more expensive but much closer to my route).

I have a 2009 NAH. I'm at 110K miles, I get an average of 31.9 topping at 34 (really trying) according to the computer. When I bought the car used at 46K miles I was averaging 34 and hitting 38 when really trying.

I plan to replace spark plugs and run a fuel system treatment/cleaner and see if that helps improve mpg. The car runs great, I put on about 25K miles last year without a hiccup.

I use good quality fuel (87octane, NON-ethanol), anyone have any other suggestions on what to check/replace to get more out of it? I do notice that it is extremely difficult to keep it in EV mode even if barely accelerating and below 40mph. Ideas???
