Regardless.. not to upset bat or the overlay guys... but overlays work on tinting great... (tails)

As far as eyelids are concerned though, i dont think a piece of vinyl can get the same look as an extra piece of the body... it wont shine as well either... Also, vinyl is dirt cheap (like 20 bucks for a 30 ft roll) and you can cut yourself 200 eyelids out of that... (i think bat should be charging $10-15 for the eyelid overlays) (and make some decals to boot!)... but then you have to worry about the install... (or paying someone else to do it)....

Again.. everyone has their own take on the look... to each his/her own... if you take a pic of bats overlays on a black coupe and hold it side by side to my picture i think you will see what i mean... i think the fiberglass is head and shoulder a better pick...
Hey LBC,I agree with most of what you are saying except for black cars. In your first set of pictures the eyelids - look somewhat transluscent like dark vinyl. So I think the darkest vinyl on a black car will look similiar to the eyelids - it may actually look better since you wont have the two "bumps" that are higher than the hood. This won't apply to other color cars since - I don't believe you can paint the vinyl overlays.

If anyone is interested in what these look like on onther color cars - you should try a search for the same on Zs and Gs. I tried to post a couple but my internet is acting funny.

Cali.. the ones that look crappy (in my garage, the pics that are dark) were before they were actually put on the car.. The first one and the last one are after i put them on. They are a decent amount of size though, and i dig the reflection that you get off it (something you cant get with vinyl) Im not sure what else you mean as far as being black specific though.

I'm looking at the first picture in this thread - I can see how the other poster didn't know at first glance that these were not the bluebats.

All I'm tryng to say is that black is the worst color to demonstrate what you are saying - the reason is because - you could get a black film tint - that would have the similar effect - an extension of the hood - but without the bumps (that actually rise above the hood). The headlights are already flush - with the hood correct? If so then black vinyl on a black car would look more convincing.

The Fiberglass part has the advantage of being able to be color matched - whereas - the vinyl overlays cant (as far as i know). So for you guys with black cars that go with black or dark overlays - it is the same as getting a color match.

Do you see what i'm saying?

This will be the case until bluebat comes out with some azure blue bluebats.

Niiiice, I like it. Hopefully it looks as good on white.

Hey, what kind of turn signals are those? I have clear turns too but the bulb is blue.

Yup - that's what I've been talking about the whole time.

Here are some fiberglass in red on a G. Notice the GTR style front.

Eyelids don't cover or obstruct any part of the visible light (unless you get some poorly designed ones). It is not the same thing as tinting your headlights.

I just got mine in the mail today. I did a test fitment and you can see a small bit of the orange parking light at the bottom of the eyelid. Is that how yours is LBC?

it depends on where you stick them... theres a few mm of wiggle room to cover that if you are having issues... and the height at which you are standing at.. you cant see the front of the amber on mine.. but we know when you look in the side (like looking at a sexy lady in overalls) you see the gold! lol...

Well I know you can see the amber from the side. But I'm talking about standing directly in front of the car. The amber peek outs maybe half an inch under the eyelid. I already tried moving it down as far as I can. Dunno.

ok.. i dont have pics.. but i did stand in the rain a bit to take a better look... from eye level, you see the chrome part of the amber signal area... just that splitter that seperates the regular headlight area, from the upper area with the turn/running signal... even lower than eye level, looking up, i dont see the amber from the front.

Hope that helps

Yea, I was describing it wrong. That's the same thing you see on mine. So I guess it's fine. Now just gotta find someplace to get them painted.

First place I went to wanted 108 to paint them.
