Regardless.. not to upset bat or the overlay guys... but overlays work on tinting great... (tails)
As far as eyelids are concerned though, i dont think a piece of vinyl can get the same look as an extra piece of the body... it wont shine as well either... Also, vinyl is dirt cheap (like 20 bucks for a 30 ft roll) and you can cut yourself 200 eyelids out of that... (i think bat should be charging $10-15 for the eyelid overlays) (and make some decals to boot!)... but then you have to worry about the install... (or paying someone else to do it)....
Again.. everyone has their own take on the look... to each his/her own... if you take a pic of bats overlays on a black coupe and hold it side by side to my picture i think you will see what i mean... i think the fiberglass is head and shoulder a better pick...
Hey LBC,I agree with most of what you are saying except for black cars. In your first set of pictures the eyelids - look somewhat transluscent like dark vinyl. So I think the darkest vinyl on a black car will look similiar to the eyelids - it may actually look better since you wont have the two "bumps" that are higher than the hood. This won't apply to other color cars since - I don't believe you can paint the vinyl overlays.
If anyone is interested in what these look like on onther color cars - you should try a search for the same on Zs and Gs. I tried to post a couple but my internet is acting funny.
