Man ill be the outsider and tell you to keep the S14. You will seriously miss the 240, if you sell it. You have one clean S14a

Yeah, I took that pic of the interior, and the way the sun was hitting it, it just made it look nasty. It looks much better in person/ in the car. The sun made it look all faded and crap, i shoudl take another.

Oh yeah, and im like 6'+ and i fit fine, i feel there is a ton of space on the inside, and i have pleanty more headroom to spare. Toyota really did its homework, the seats are amazingly comfy as well. Plus, the leg room? Get out of here, with the engine in the back, there is a ton of leg room, and in the passenger seat, most people cant even touch the end of the floor board.

Bah!! I'll never leave my 240. I spent too much time finding my car to ever give It up. These savages just want you to sell your car so they can swoop It ! :-p

they handle like a knife and will oversteer at the drop of a hat. my friend died in his mr2. wouldnt touch one with a 10 foot pole.

btw you saying that your best run in your 240 is 16, mr2 14.8 makes you sound like you are more into drag, which is not what either of thoes cars were built for. maybe you should look for somthing else.

The only reason I mention 1/4 mile times is because most of the time I'll just be daily driving, and like to have a little fun. Handling is very important also, I just didn't mention much about it because in this price range it's pretty much implied that these cars are THE best handlers, especially upgraded, which negates the reason for arguing about handling.

chmercer - sorry to hear that about your friend, would definately serve as means for not getting a MR2.

To everyone else, I would inform you that sometimes in 240s, S14s at least, the airbag does not deploy on time, so be careful and don't hit anything because you might not have them when you need them after all.

I would go with the mr2..but like everyone else said. Learn to drive it! Those things are viscious.

PS - the red mr2 is gorgeous.

I'd love to keep my car but I want speed you know? They both have looks and handling, but my car has serious lack of speed. I do not have the money and will not anytime soon (college student) to turbo the 240. The MR2 already has the speed and turbo, but my car has everything else. If I got the MR2 I would never have to spend all that amount to make it fast, but I would have to drop some on minor paint job (sideskirts, middle lining..etc), exhaust, rims, tires, and so forth, which is fun to do anyway. I would get the money for that by selling my car and I'd be pretty much set. Then a big factor is the thinking of putting all this hard work, time and money into my car, then selling it..KNOWING that I'll never find a car like this again. I really have no freakin clue as to what I'm going to do. I'm real surprised that everyone on a 240SX forum tells me to go with the MR2, that really says something, so I'm in a rut. :angryfire

the MR2 is gorgeous and has some benifits, but I would still stick to the 240.

The only real difference that I see is the 240 has more room, and starts you off with far more displacement. Though it may not be faster at the moment, it is still a great daily driver and keep it in good shape and think about a turbo upgrade later.

-Thank you ;)

Erin- I could help you out, it wont be all that much money if you do it the right way. Rick could help you out with the paint, and that would be madd cheap. And ill set you up with some boost-goddies.

Performance, 13's for 30 dollars.

Intake+ Adapter = 15 bucks ebayBoost Controller = 15 bucks ebay (raise up to 15psi)

The stock muffler flows well, its just heavy, we could gut the main cat, and 2ndary = Free, and will sound pretty good.

There, with good driving, you are now in the 13's for 30 dollars.

The 93 MR-2 is fast. I was blown away when my buddy got his with how fast it was and the road grip is insane as well. For a long time, it was what I wanted(not necc the turbo, as accel is not my main thing), but the 2 seater with no carrying capacity is what really turned me off. As a college student you are pretty much good to go or if you have a pickup or something practical as well then even better. I would not give up a trunk/hatch for pretty much anything now as my sole means of transportation.

Pros:Fast as hellHandles at least as well as a 240 once you know the limits(imo)Stock turboToyota

Cons:You and a buddy or You and some luggage for tripsIts my understanding that you will blow through rear tires due to uneven wear. Im sure your brother could confirm/dispute that part though. Not a Nissan

hehe....I guess it depends on how much practicality you need in your vehicle. Both are sexah.

If you decide on the Toy, I hope that 240 goes to a good home.

Yeah good points. My parents bring their CRV up here when I have to lug all my stuff up for the semester, cause it wouldn't all fit in the 240 anyway. As far as the back seats, no one wants to cram back there anyways so if it's more than two people we take someone elses car (saves on my gas). The mr2 would basically be equivalent, and I don't lug anything else major around so space is not really what I want. I should probably be opening up to offers if anyone is interested in my 97 in case I do happen to do this. And like he said, it better be to a good home!:D Check out my website for more pics and things, link is in my profile at the beginning of this thread, along with my list of mods.

Slippery S13 - I absolutely and completely disagree when it comes to what you said about luggage. I find that the mr2 has a decent amount of luggage space, in a couple diff areas. The is a decently-sized trunk in the back (behind the engine if you didnt know ;) ) Which as always held what ever i throw at it, and then some. PLus, there is a nice little trunk up front under the hood. I dont ride with a spare (adds weight, ick) so i have a decent amount of room up there as well. Plus, you can toss some stuff behind the seats, and there is a little storage bin behind the pass seat.

I love the luggage set-up of the mr2. It has never failed me. In fact, ive driven up to orlando with my brother and all his college crap (comming back from break). And we did alright, Oh and i had the stock exhaust system in the trunk as well, Lol, and that muffler is Huge!!

The rear tires....ehh...i guess you got me on that one, but! Its up to the driver!! If you granny drive all over the place, and drive normally, then the tires will last for evaaarRR!!! But..when you drive like me...well...you know. I went through a set of khumos on the back in a few months, from drifting and regular aggressive street driving and such. Oh well

Heres the trunk: (it looks smaller in this pic than it actually is)

Oh and erin, i have decided that I personally think you should keep the s14. Seeing as how it is very meaningful and special to you, and how it is the car youve always wanted and been looking for. If you decide to go the mr2 route, i will surly help you. But, thats just what i think.

I'd go with the mr2, you only live once. MR2s are getting rare, and also I'm pretty sure there is a fix for the uneven tire wear, at least some of it, I read it somewhere, the newer mkii mr2s the one with the newer taillights came with something improved, that made it more predictable in case of oversteer, and i think it evened the tire wear too.
