OK guys, I'm in a little situation here. Disclaimer: I DO realize how lucky I am to have this opportunity available to me, we also went through a lot of effort for it as well. Call me spoiled but (I'm really a college student with very little money), currently in our family there is a 93 White MR2 Turbo T-Top with 80K on it, stock. I currently own a 97 White S14a with 72K on it, as you can see in my profile and site(feel free to browse for pics/info). My brother was going to sell the White MR2 turbo, but now I've been pondering whether I should sell my car and keep that. Of course I love my 240 to death, but its slow. I ran a best of 16.1 at the track one time. MR2-T's run 14.8 stock, but if you up the boost with a boost controller for freakin 30 bucks, you can run 13s. 93 Turbos are super rare, like my 97 240. The specs for the MR2 are here:

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....44500

I would sell my car and use the leftover money to make my MR2 look something like this:

I know the opinions might be bias because of course this is a 240SX forum, but just thought I might ask anyway. The MR2-T's have the famous 3SGTE engine, and I know they're reliable because my brother drives his MR2-T harder than anything and it has 130K on it boosting at 16psi on the stock turbo. Also, I was planning to spend ANOTHER $3000 on a turbo setup for my car, it would run low 14s I'm guessing, but with this car I would not have to spend that amount, I would actually get money back from the sale to put into the car thats already fast. Any opinions would be appreciative. I think I could get $12-12,500 for my car as it is right now. I wouldn't be so quick to sell it for much lower because I know the rarity (sunroof/5spd/leather..etc) plus my mods add up to over $2000. Thanks all.

-Erin

take the mr2, just go to a big parking lot and drive in a fast circle. then back off the gas and see what happens.

do that a bunch of times and get used to the handling before you get nuts on the street. trust me, i wrecked mine.

I'd say go for the MR2... but I think you'd be lucky to get $12k for your car.

If you do decide to get the MR2, good luck with making it look like that - it's a great looking ride! :)

I'd say go mr2, i thought about that recently as well. Rear engine changed my mind (I'm not experienced in rear engine not knockin it tho). But yeah it's already turbo'd just a matter of bolt on's mostly.

yeah, I've driven my brother's a few times, its definately a different feeling (Mid Engine, RWD). About that MR2, thats a stock body other than the front bumper. They painted the middle lining there and the stock side skirts. I wouldn't get that bumper, just keep the stock one like it is now because it's white with a black 93+ MR2 lip, like my S14a:D. The only stuff other than that would be springs, struts, rims, tint, and 95+ taillights, everything else is stock. I'd have KYB AGX's and Eibach Sportlines for suspension, that setup OWNS. Side note also - Most 93 MR2-T's have LSD trannys, while my car has open dif.

Hmmmmm, I would probably go with the MR2, especially being in college and not havint a lot of money but wanting a fast car. Let's face it 240's are expensive, I just took the insurance off of mine and it's sitting while I save and drive a friggin astro van (brown on dark brown).

So your brother has a mr2 and hes goin to give you one if you want it? I would say definetly get it, they both look good, but the mr2 is faster, just remember the insurance is going to be higher, and your only going to have 2 seats now (even though you pretty much do in a 240 : / ) btw What boost controller for $30? Or are you talkin about a manual boost controller?

Haha I wish I had a camera to take a pic. You gotta see me in my friends Eclipse GS convertible. Theres enough room with the top up, but it looks kinda funny with it down.

indeed, and it really wouldn't take that much to get a stock white one to look like that. What color was the interior? The interior in ours is blue..I'm not sure if I like that yet...

alright my bro posted a pic above of our car. It's not the best pic but thats the car. Here is another pic of what the body would look like if I made it. It's all stock with the mid lining, side skirts and lip painted. I'd leave the front lip black though, and have gunmetal rims. -->

That is a bad pic of the interior with how the sun is hitting it. Overall, i like it more than the 240's interior, as i feel it is more quality, and more confortable. PLus the seat is like 10000-way adjustable, so you can make it extra-comfy, and it really holds you in, verse the big s14 leather seat that you slide around on.

Here is the my other mr2 turbo.

I also say go for the MR-2. They are just awesome cars. Don't get me wrong, I love my 240, but its just not as fast as an MR2-T

Yeah I think orginally I cared about looks and stuff, and I think my car has presence, it just has no speed. I went from an auto 97 accord to the 240, and that was a big jump, but lets face it the stock 240s are seriously underpowered. Everyone's like "oh man is that car fast?? It look fast as hell!"...ummmm, no.
