No, I haven't seen him in a long time. Nice guy though.

Also, everyone should come out. It is going to be a fun event. Hell, you may even get to see me blow my car up on the dyno. We'll see if the extra 1000 rpm holds up.

Come on man, don't blow it up! That would be a really sh*tty day to see you blow up that supercharged KA. What cams are you running? I always wondered just how high a KA could rev...

I'm not going to try and blow it up. I'm just going to take it up to around 6500 rpm which is pushing the rpm limit on the supercharger with the current pulley setup I have. I'm running s13 cams. I wouldn't rev a KA past the factory redline without some major work done to it. The head becomes a restriction starting around 6000rpm. Also, the benefit of having the long stroke and larger displacement is that you don't have to rev as high to make power. Cars don't have to turn 10,000rpm to be competative.

I heard something about the KA's rod:stroke ratio being a handicap when it comes to high revving. Why is that?

The SCCA Corvettes do it at 7,000.

Yes, the KA has an extremely long rod. It is an inch longer than the SR. This means it is roughly 6" vs 5". This 20% increase allows more bending stress in the rod and more points for failure. The problem is that the rod is longer but not really any thicker. Hope this helps. If you need more clarification, please ask. I'm kinda tired right now. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Yep that's exactly what I heard. I guess that's why there aren't many KA race motors out there...So what's everybody been up to? Haven't been on here in awhile. Hopefully gonna get a car this year sometime...

The long stroke of the KA accounts for it's torque but relatively low redline. Biggity boo. Wats up with you?

theres actually a kid in huntsville with a nissan built full race ka24e sohc. Its in a red s13. Idles like a v8 with cams, but really bad gas mileage.

Built with forged pistons and sh*t? I've heard that a sohc with a set of aggressive cams makes it sound like a V8. I haven't seen any in person, though. You know the kid? I'd like to see that S13. That'd scare the sh*t out of someone in a Mustang.

Yeah I go to Austin, and our football team sucks more balls than Elton John, so I don't think we'll ever get to the playoffs...

What sport? I know for a fact that it sure as hell wasn't football. I don't think we've won homecoming in over ten years...

Hahaha... s13 coupe.... For pics search for stock white 1990 coupe on google image search... I've only had the car for a couple of weeks and I don't have the title in my name yet hence "stock". I can take pictures if you really want me too...

BTW.... Does anyone have a stock cat back they want to get rid of? I have a hole (i can stick my fist in it) in my muffler that is driving me insane.
