how different will my sr run without a air temp sensor?

None, the SR doesnt have an air temp sensor.

no i mean air temp sensor. I pretty sure it has one

I know it doesnt. You may be thinking about the one that KA24DE's in S14's have. The SR does not use that signal.

Remember the SR20DET is turbocharged, the air goes through the turbo and gets hot, then gets cooled a little bit in an intercooler. Thus whats the point of measuring temperature if it wont read accurately once the air reaches the engine.

the air temp sensor goes after the intercooler. Therefore it will read the right temp. It is pin out #45 coming from the ecu

Ive never heard or seen anyone useing an air intake temp sensor on an SR

Sigh That is the ambiant temp sensor. It is used for the digital and analog climate control with the "AUTO" button. That wire does literally less than nothing. Its not even on the blacktop wiring harness.

The sensor is actually located under the hood release hinge. I know, I have one mounted for my digital climate control, its a black box that measures outside air.
