if yours is loud as hell and no one can talk to you with the car running, it sounds like mine! :p Eh the swap, well it's 'waiting' untill I get pistons and some block work to fit them. Should be 6 months or so unfortunately.

it sounds just like a loud idling car, but not really as loud as say an n/a car open dump. need to raise your voice a bit to talk to a passenger. when the turbos spool it really sounds like a dump truck/big *** turbodiesel. the turbo noise definitely takes over and it turns heads on the road. i havent got on it into the high rpm range to hear the "distinct inline 6" sound...

HKS 85mm Hi-Power...its extremely quiet, a lot more so than I originally thought, and I'm even running a test pipe. You can only really hear it come alive once the revs start getting higher.

on my rb20 this exhaust is quieter then most stock cars at idle and cruising but under acceleration it has the most beautiful tone... sorta like g35's and what not but soo much better. I've also got a 3" cutout which satisifys my loud exhaust needs when i want to

i had the apexi n1 duals on my car till i ditched them because they hit my sway bar too much and had issues with rubbing on my subframe.ive got the buddy club spec2 on my car now, sounds fcking mean as crap and is nearly deafining.oh well, it is a track exhaust on a street car, with the silencer in tho it quiets it down quite a bit so its tolerable.

ok, not to be a ricer or anything, but my stock exhaust is pretty damn restrictive.... i can literally feel my motor struggling with the cutout capped closed. guess i'm running open dump from now on...

heheh, how tru.i dynoed my stock rb20 with just a 3" exhaust and it threw down 180whp on a mustang dyno.my buddy dynoed his car on the same dyno with a stock exhaust and it put down 140whp.that would mean that an exhaust is good for 40whp on a rb20 .

This is so true. With an upgraded downpipe but still stock cat and stock S13 exhaust, 140HP on a mustang dyno. After putting in a test pipe and the RS*R, 220HP on the same dyno!

With exhaust and air filters on a 26 you should be able to go from 280hp stock to 340hp no problem. It is wonders what tuning and air flow can do.

just curious, are you speaking from personal experience? If so, what products were these? And if this is something you have read, please cite the source.

60 hp is a nice increase, but I don't see it happening without some other additions.. i see you mention 'tuning'...

Twin hks pods, apexi gt spec exhaust, koyo radiator, and a greddy front mount. I dont know If it had the fuel pressure regulator and the greddy boost controler on it at the time. The guy I bought my swap from had it swaped into a 95 240sx. He worked a John Haileys Mortorsports here in MN. He doesn't work there any more but he is building my 26. I will see if he still has that graph. He could use the dyno any time he wanted for free. When I bought it, it had just got rebuilt with je pistons, new bearings, and new belts ect... Rb26's are under rated from the factory so its probly olney a 40 hp gain. I have never had my engine running once I bought it off him. I had him tare it apart so everyting can handle a reliable 700hp at the crank. I bought it for a project not to drive on the road. I'm in no hurry to get it done. I would rather get it done right the first time rather than having it blow up. He use to chat on here Silzilla or something like that was his name. He is buisy with a family now so he is never on here.

I've got an Espelir JGT500 exhaust, sounds good on the rb20, flows well too. Wish I could hear it more over my exhaust leak at the turbo elbow

Where did you buy your exaust from? All of the places I am looking at have that stupid long tip for their 3" "turbo" systems.

I'm not sure if it's a 3" exhaust because I didn't spend much time researching it, but the Tanabe's have shorter exhaust tips than most of the other brands.

On a turbo motor...theres nothing like a freaking exhaust cut out...right after the downpipe. 1987 Buick GNX style....
