ok I think you guy remember my post about the HLSD from the SpecV being compatible with our transmission. well something else might be compatible too.

they are making some performance clutches for the b16 sentra specVs and since we have the same transmission they might be compatible.

anyone in California with a 6MT should definitely jump on this! since they are nearing completion of the clutch for the b16 SpecVs I don't think they would mind checking compatibility with our cars too and you might even get a discount or a free one!

ACT is a very reputable company and I had one of their clutch kits on my honda before and damn loved it. They make different types of clutch kits for whatever setup you have. So if you plan on boosting your car and you dont want your transmission to start slipping, better go talk to them and ask them to make some clutch kits for the altimas.

what?! didn't know we had rules against linking. damn that sucks, you could have turned a blind eye on it....

well I'm just going to quote the OP post from there then:
tjb101084 wrote:As I'm sure most of you know I have been working with ACT clutches to get a aftermarket Clutch and fly kit for our B16's. I just got off the phone and he is aiming for this to be completed very shortly. I have discussed a GROUP buy at a discounted price and he said sure. We are looking at some thing that will look like this.....

Now this is not the clutch but will look some thing like this. He had estimated a cost of around $500 for clutch kit and $400 for flywheel. After we get a list of people I could work this price down but again these prices are an estimate at this point.

Check out their web site they make some pretty good stuff. http://www.advancedclutch.com/

They were saying that our clutch looks like almost the same as the 350Z so they are spec-ing mine to compare it.

Any ways GROUP BUY! Who would be interested? Let’s get a list going...............

doesnt the bolt pattern and size of the pressure plate, disc, flywheel have to come into play here.

someone should take a look at the FSM for both our car, and the B16 sentra, and compare the results!

hopefully this will work, and we can get to work on getting clutches put in our cars.

my friend in washington has good dealings with ACT, and they make great clutch kits, so hopefully if it fits i can get a group buy going through him for us.

i want a clutch with a pressure plate that can firm up the clutch pedal, and a disc that grabs better than the stock clutch!

ok, im pretty sure that this clutch/flywheel will definately fit up to the 2.5 6MT altimas, because it will be made for the QR25DE.

a clutch kit will have to be made for the VQ35DE for it to fit up, if im not mistaken. but then again the cars use the same transmission, so im unsure.

well their transmission is the same as the 3.5SE's transmission. so it could fit both the 2.5ers and the 3.5ers 6MT thats why someone will need to do some prototyping with them to find that out

i understand what you are saying, but what im saying is that the clutch bolts onto the motor, and im not sure if the bolt patterns are the same for both engines, but i dont know for sure. maybe since they both use the same transmission it will work.

not sure about the flywheel though, thats a different story.

Courtesy parts has both listed with the same part number, but that might be an error.... and I agree even though the transmission is the same the motor isn't.

This is what I pulled up for part numbers.

Sentra 2.5: Clutch Disc - 30100-JA00A Slave Cylinder - 306A0-JA60B Clutch Cover - 30210-JA00AFlywheel - 12310-ET80B

Altima 2.5:Clutch Disc - 30100-JA00A Slave Cylinder - 306A0-JA60BClutch Cover - 30210-JA00AFlywheel - 12310-JA00A

Altima 3.5:Clutch Disc - 30100-JA10A Slave Cylinder - 306A0-JA60BClutch Cover - 30210-JA10AFlywheel - 12310-JA10A

ok before i say anything...

clutch cover = pressure plate.

now on to what i was going to say.

since the 3.5 altima is using a V6, then it should be using a heavier pressure plate and believe the only difference now in the setup is the pressure plate.

the disc is the same part number, the CSC is the same part number, and im guessing the SER is using a slightly lighter flywheel than the 2.5 altima which is why it makes more power as well.

from what i see from the part numbers, mostly everything should fit up fine, but we will just have to wait and see.

hopefully this works out for the whole clutch kit. if it doesnt, then we can just use our stock pressure plate, with a grippier disc from ACT!

then that means everything should bolt right up if everything is the same

i have a question!

where did you find these part numbers, because everytime i look on courtesy parts they always have the chassis code within the part number as well?

good find btw, hopefully this all works well, because this stock clutch sucks, and is definately not ready for the track!

I would get in on this, but AIT still has my car and they haven't told me when exactly they'll be done with it. Technosquare needs my car as soon as it gets out of AIT's hands for the ECU tuning, so I probably wouldn't get my car back until May/June. If no one has jumped on it by then, I'll see what I can do.

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in ACT products. We are currently looking at a Spec V clutch but at the current time we have no definitive plans to produce it. Also, we have not brought in an Altima to confirm or deny of this clutch would be the same. This e-mail will be forwarded to our R&D department and if they are interested in using your vehicle, they will contact you directly. Keep in mind that we produce clutches depending on popularity/demand. The more requests we see, the more likely we are to produce the application. If minimal interest is shown, it’s likely not to be produced. If you have any other questions, please contact us using the information below.

Err...

Look closely at the 3.5 numbers. The pressure plate, disc, and flywheel are different.

Altima 3.5:Clutch Disc - 30100-JA10ASlave Cylinder - 306A0-JA60BClutch Cover - 30210-JA10AFlywheel - 12310-JA10A

It would be interesting to see if they match the 350Z parts, though!

I couldn't find OEM part numbers to check against at the moment.

i think if you read the thread you would know what was going on.

the part numbers dont have to exactly match.

part numbers for the brake pads from the 07+ altimas and the 03-05 350z's are completely different, but im running 350z hawk pads on my car.

im not saying the clutch kit will exactly fit up perfectly, but going by those part numbers, i should be possible.

there is alot of speculation right now, and something needs to be done about this!!!!

Actually, I did read the thread, thank you.

I also read through phobs' part number list and, at first glance, everything seemed to match for the Altimas. As I looked away from it, I noticed the slight difference in the part numbers. I thought I would point that out, as there were at least two people (you and Mehdi) who said they were the same. I'm not familiar with Nissan part numbers, but in my experience, a difference in part numbers means a difference in the part. This difference may or may not affect the fit of the part for a given application, but I thought I would point it out anyway.

What if the difference is something that is not really obvious, like the pressure plate for one assembly is set 2mm higher than the other? How long do you think that clutch would last? Just because the holes line up and it will go together doesn't mean it will work.

I could not find any part number more specific than the left 5 digits, so instead I just tried to raise a flag about the numbers.

I spent plenty of time and money when I was your age modding my '69 442. It ran high 9's in the quarter mile, as did my buddy's '70 GSX. Regrettably, we both had to get rid of the cars later on due to more important things in life, like our families.

Anyway, few things suck more than spending the time installing a part that should work, only to take it apart again because it doesn't. Especially when there is a lot of labor and/or money involved. I just didn't want to see anyone jump the gun and order a 350Z performance clutch for their Altima if there was a chance it wouldn't be right.
