ok, blah blah blah...i had a response to what you said, but it got erased for some reason, so i just said forget it. but i never said that the part numbers were exactly the same, i said that they were similar.

but anyways, i emailed them, and i basically got the same response that the previous emailer got, except i asked other questions which to me were answered.

take 5 minutes to read it all.

ME:hello there those of you at advanced clutch. well i have about 32k miles miles on my altima right now, and i will be looking to upgrade my clutch to a Street/Track clutch kit from your company. there is alot of talk going on about you guys having a clutch kit in the works for the 07+ Sentra SE-R SpecV, and by our research and discovery going by part numbers and such, we have found out that the sentra clutch should fit on the altimas as well, since they both share the same transmission. I am very interested in getting a clutch from you guys, and i hope that you will have something to offer the altima community. I do have a few questions, that hopefully you clutch people can answer: 1. Being that the two cars share the same transmission, is it possible that the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel will be able to fit onto either car even though they have different motors, QR25DE/VQ35DE? 2. Im not sure how well my theory is on this, but from my understanding, the clutch bolts onto the motor, so it would have to have the same bolt pattern for it to fit or not? 3. Another thing in general, are the pressure plates on the aftermarket clutches that you guys make for other cars bigger than the stocks ones that they replace? I know that they are stronger and stiffer, but i'm wondering if they are thicker that they should fit? Thanks for listening, and the help! Sincerely,Andrew Mongru

THEM (ACT):Andrew, Thank you for your e-mail and interest in ACT products. We are currently looking at a Spec V clutch but at the current time we have no definitive plans to produce it. Also, we have not brought in an Altima to confirm or deny of this clutch would be the same. Clutch fitment will definitely depend on the flywheel bolt pattern. As we have not brought in an Altima to test fit, at this time it is unknown to us if it does share the same pattern as the Spec V.Usually when we develop a clutch, we try and keep the pressure plate the same size. Usually they are not thicker as this would require some sort of modifications or replacement of other components. Keep in mind that we produce clutches depending on popularity/demand. The more requests we see, the more likely we are to produce the application. If minimal interest is shown, it’s likely not to be produced. If you have any other questions, please contact us using the information below. so basically if they see more emails/calls coming to them about the altimas they will look into R&D for the altima. get on this people, the '09 racing season is coming up, which means modding will have to precede that!

maybe we should get stillen and act in this thread, and also post something about this on the other forum.

more interest/demand means that we should see some supply sooner or later!

Okay so kinda noob question here but would the be any benefit to an aftermarket clutch other than being able to hold more power?

I can see upgrading to a lighter flywheel but i dont see what the clutch itself would add.

and P.S. Yes i know how a clutch works...lol

It will allow you to "grab" better and earlier when shifting. You won't need to press the clutch further down compare to stock. If you ever been in a car with a race clutch you can just tap the clutch (barely push it down) to shift gear.

I don't know how to explain it good but hopefully you get a better idea.
