I do not like the factory spoiler because of the light in it. I would go with a lip spoiler or nothing at all.

IMO the coupe requires the spoiler. For me I wanted it factory installed because there is no High mounted stoplight on the rear cabin deck. This is is one way you can tell if the spoiler on your G Coupe was installed during assembly or by the dealer . Cars that come from the factory without the spoiler are required to have High mounted stoplight in the cabin. This is why you see some Gs with a light in the cabin and in the spoiler.

It looks like at least in the aftermarket the spoiler comes with or without the stop lamp in it. Not sure about the factory spoiler installed after assembly.

Soo if you are adding a spoiler with a light you should also disconnect or remove the interior stop light. Just my 78 cents.

I am not sure that the interior one would have to be disconnected since they are may be LEDs and the current draw is not all that great, maybe, maybe not.

In any case I am wondering about my Sedan. Is the high mounted light present in Sedan's with spoilers since my 08 has both and came that way to my dealer. The car was from another dealer but the indication is that it was an original. Looking at the wiring diagram and it is a little bit different then some of the earlier models. On earlier models it shows two separate connections one for Infinitis with spoilers, one without. On the 07 it shows a separate connection for one with spoiler but the connection for the normal light seems intack, although depending on the drawing maybe not connected (connection circle is white instead of black). I never really paid attention to it before but will have to have someone press the brake to see if it is.

in the case where there is both an interior light and one on the spoiler - the interior light does not have to be disconnected because of power concerns - I just think it looks tacky. Its a matter of preference or taste.

I think it is a matter of where the guy behind you is located. On my car with the higher mounted 2008 spoiler the high mounted brake light is essentially hidden from behind by the spoiler.

What I have been looking at doing is using the 3rd brake light a little bit differently. Awhile back I ran into a motorcycle brake light that was deceleration sensitive and would brake faster with rapid deceleration and then stay on full time when stopped.

Many new motorcycles cheat by simply doing this on a timer. With the new chips available this is a fairly simple concept although I have been thinking of cheating myself and steal what is already made.

In this case I will move the 3rd brake light so it actually is a high mounted light instead of a hidden one.

Is it a factory spoiler? OEM manufacturers are usually pretty good about this kind of thing.

Factory spoiler. What I am referring to is that with the spoiler the regular 3rd brake light is essentially hidden from view behind the spoiler, so even if it is on what you will see instead is the light located directly on the spoiler. I see no need to disconnect it in this situation.
