Good to hear!

I ended up having the machine shop tack weld those pieces on, to help with installation. If for some reason it breaks off during isntall, don't fret/worry....I haven't had aany issue yet, but being just a tack, anything can happen.

Maybe on future ones I'll get them pressed in, but this is the most cost effective way.

my lower bracket does not fit. It is about 1/8-1/4 inch off. There are little lips that hang off the factory black bracket that is mounted to the engine and they prevent the holes from lining up. This is minor, but for you next batch maybe the machining guys can compensate. If anyone else has this problem just head to a hardware store and get 4 or 8 spacers depending on thickness. place the same number in each spot and you should be good to go.

Other than that, I would have been able to install everything without having to remove anything except the PS belt, and without having to go under my car. And the best part is it would have only taken about 5-10 minutes...

Thanks

Did you get them on? What had to be done? Any other problems?

Cody, do you still have that link to how you installed you brackets on your red-top? I see that its not working off your sig. any more.

The two tabs will saw off easy with a hacksaw or you can use spacers. I am waiting to get another alternator and then I will finish the install. But like a said, the install is EASY besides those little tabs. Either way its not a big deal. I just wasn't expecting it. If there are other issues I will post it up.BTW this was o the s14 SR20.

Also, a note to some of you s13 guys. You need to check your AC bracket and be sure it is the correct bracket for the correct motor. The s13 blacktop and redtop have different brackets, but they can be interchanged between motors. so there is a chance your redtop has a blacktop bracket on it or the other way around. Just keep that in mind.

UPDATE: Sawed off tabs bolted up the brackets with no problem. Went to install the compressor and the lower bolts did not line up. Not too big a deal, The two that bolted are pretty solid so Im wiling to give it a go...BUT then I find that the belt does not fit. I think I have the wrong belt for my kit. it seems like it is 3-4 inches too small...

S14 W/ S13 Black top: My belt is too small as well. Kinda stuck there unless some one can get a better part number(I tryed to use a heat gun and stretch it but no luck there). I had to un-bolt and bend a power steering line bracket(the s14 ka compressor is big). ALSO The new lower brackets are about 1/4-1/8 off making the compressor not able to bolt to it. I will have to have a machine shop bore the holes bigger(I already cut the lower tabs off). Washers wont work here, my compressor is too close to the swaybar. Well there goes an 8 hour day down the drain! I took it all out and will try again next weekend when I have more time. Sweat--->

SupreamS14,

I emailed Cody and made him aware of our issues. He replied with a few suggestions. In good faith I am going to try and see if there is anyway to get the compressor completely bolted up as is. I have a very flexible career so I can try and get you updated for the next go. That way you don't have to spend too much time on it. Hopefully everything will bolt right up and there will be no need for a machine shop.

Also, Cody is aware of the belt issue as well. If you could post the number of your belt then we can make sure he knows where a change needs to be made. Mine was too short as well and I don't want to go buy one as I already paid to get one. I am sure Cody will take care of everything appropriately.

and I made an error. It was my lower bracket not the rear The upper bracket was perfect. Lower seems to have been the same issue as you are having.
