I ordered the main and rod bearings from ProjectNissan.com. I paid $575 for them total with shipoping from overseas. I was origionally quoted $380 but when they got my order they only had half of what I wanted. On project nissans site it says that the price they give is 2 pieces which make a circle, but its not. That price is only for half a bearing. So since I got jipped Robert at projectnissan cut me a great deal. The price was supposed to be over 700$. Got lucky on that one.
atticus wrote:what exhaust manifold gasket are you running, hmm now that i think about it you probably got the gasket set...I need an exhaust gasket for my RB20, cant seem to find one.
Yea... I got a OEM gasket kit. I have seen rb20 gaske tkits on e-bay. Might want to try over there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...83102

Thanks for the props guys. I am wating on an injector so I can put the fuel rail on (my buddy broke an injectors tip while cleaning them). Then I am gonna put the alternator on and fab up some engine mounts this week.

Heres an update on my project rb26. I finally got the engine in a few days ago. The hood barely rubs but cutting the webbing will clear it. Hopefully things will start moving faster.

that is simply a masterpiece. Seems like you have extra space in there for some puller fans for the radiator. Good job man. I hope it gets all the horse power that you want out of it.

Thanks. I have mocked up the OEM GTR radiator. The lower cross frame that ties to the front of the chassis has to be notched. I don't think pullers will fit. Maybe the ati pully with out the ac & ps pullys, but not with the OEM pully. I am thinking pushers infront of the rad will fit better. I would rather have pullers though...

I got the stock pistons but the skirts are worn. I personally wouldn't reuse them. I'd get some Wisecos and a MLS (multi layer steel) headgasket. Email me if you want pics of the pistons [email protected].

My buddy welded up the motor mounts. He is also helping me with the trans mount. The radiator brackets have a 1" spacer under them to rase the mount up.

wiseco piston kits for rb25 and 26 (various bores) are $699 from raceeng.com. from my research, this price is pretty competitive. i got mine there, and their customer service was excellent. got my stuff in no time. they'll let you know right away (over phone) when things are in stock/out of stock. if you buy more than one thing, i.e. fasteners, head gasket, etc. they'll give you a small "package" discount.

Success... Ah ha!!!!! Aproximately 3:30 pm cst. My project car roared to life and sustained its first idle. It lasted for about a good 3-4 mins. I had to kill it cause my fan was accidentally blowing on the mafs so it went pig rich and out came a huge thick exhauset cloud in no time. It gave me a minor head ache for a few mins .

Theres it still some more work before it hits the streets. I am waiting on FMIC, DP, Intakes, and front bumper. She is very close though. I'll be putting up some more recent pics later. Its such a good feeling to hear it come back to life.

Good to hear things are coming along so well. Did you happen to do any documentation/write up of your swap? Enquiring minds want to know.

i have an idea of how mch i've spent and it's not too pretty. not to mention the hours of research/work so far.

pretty slick... i hope my motor come out as cleanly as yours. I opted for the crank collar... Hopefully it works out as nicely. I am STILL waiting on my PE main and rod bearings... they are supposedly in customs... but we will see. Someone was asking for stock pistons?

Mine were pretty decent, i have rods and cams too... make an offer if you want?
