Beanie Baby!

Thank you for posting this thread! This is a real help! When I first started on this site, I was too intimidated to ask what O.E.M meant and I had to learn through the web that it meant Original Equipment Manufacturer. I vote to make this a sticky thread!

My only contribution is: FNG=fuggin new guy

sorry but I've been

Dino = dinosaur goo. (as opposed to Dyno)

Telcoman = 87 Octane

I be thinkin that HR stands for High Response or High Revolution.

And for telcoman...Recycle = 1958 ford melted down and resold as a 2006 G35 6MT Sedan in New Jersey.

DS = Drive select. Nissan/Infiniti's way of making the 5AT as sweet as the 6MT by allowing gear selection.

Foresight. The 2009 or 2010 G sedan will undoubtably be a G37. They have made too many improvements in the 290 HP Max to leave the G a G35.

G37 Sedan is already in Europe, may not appear in US.

RTFSM and RTOM for Read The Factory Service Manual and Owner's Manual, respectively. Should be RTPP for Read The Previous Posts.

Ban is the persent tense of the verb of which banned is the past tense. So it is neither an acronym nor an abbreviation.

Here is the problem with acronyms.

Oil is not dinosaur goo, but is derived primarily from other life forms after geologic action. So dino as an abbreviation appropriate only for newly enlightened creationists.

The correct term dynamometer reflects its Greek etymolgy for power. Dyno is so wrong. If one must abbreviate, it should be dyna in accordance wtih its Greek root.

Overdrive-Gears with a ratio of less than 1:1

I only post this because my FIL (father-in-law) thinks that overdrive is for when you want to go very fast and he insists on turning it off (auto).

Noah, Thanks for the new additions.
