So normally I don't post problems on here, but I need other minds to give their opinions.

My car seems to be running really rich, like black smoke coming out of the exhaust rich. I'm not running a cat soooo that partly explains the backfiring I'm assuming, but it should be running this rich.

Second problem (which might coincide with the first problem), when I installed my FMIC awhile back my idle jumped from being at a perfect 750 to around 1200. I was able to back the idle screw out enough to set my idle down to 850ish... What could possibly cause an increase in idle speed? Boost leak?

I don't feel like my car is running the way it should be at the moment and it makes me sad

No clue on 2. More details on 1. Is it bogging or anything? Rough Idle? etc? Also I'm back in town so you can come get your hoist anytime.

Some hesitation... I'm almost 100% sure I have a boost leak somewhere. It would make sense seeing how this all started immediately after installing the FMIC.

Oh, my car is primered by the way and I should be painting in on Thursday. I've been driving it around all week.

I would start checking for boost/vacuum leaks. A boost leak with not cause the idle to increase, but a vacuum leak will. I would suggest grabbing a can of throttle body cleaner, spray it around your intake manifold, if the idle shifts, you've found your leak.

go over all the fmic piping and couplers , if the problem started rigth after you installed your intercooler then its deffinetly something that has to do with the intercooler , dont go around things you didnt touch first check what you did if you cant find anything then go to the intake , trotle body ....
