Alright.. I read a few topics about 6spd SR20's and such... is there ANY WAY that a 6spd transmission would bolt up to my stock KA24E??

And also- my front end struts are fxckin' shot. If someone could recommend a decent, but not too expensive replacement- be it aftermarket or OEM. Or would the Stanza's work just as well?

Sorry for being quick and to the point, but I'm rushing here..

A. "WHY" Do you want 6speed on a sohc motor?

B. Use NICO advertisers. And or check out the classifieds section.

1) Have to have an adapter plate made, only way to work.

2)Go with KYB GR2's not bad shocks pretty cheap.

You can maybe weld together a KA and SR bellhousings together, keeping in mind it has to line up perfect.

You can use a KA transmission on an SR by swapping bellhousings, so it should just be a matter of sapping the internals of the 6sp into the KA bellhousing. I know that works for the 5sp SR transmission, but not sure about the 6sp.

it comes with its own bell housing, idk if can be bought as just gears. if you have $10k to drop on a transmission, WTF would you bolt it to a SOHC. i have a SOHC and am keeping it, but could never imagine that being worth it.

Exactly, thank you! Good to know at least 1 person can think on the same page as I am and not just be a d!ck about a simple f***ing question.

And thanks to all of you that actually answered my questions. Apparently people aren't allowed to post question on things they're curious about without getting smartass comments though.., but thanks- I'll be looking into it further. Ya know.. for one day when I have money- whenever that day may be, lol.

I'll keep in mind next time- not to ask dumb questions.. and SEARCH. Right. Sorry for being ignorant. (aww, there's no smiley that flicks people off.. DAMN.)

No. your single cam isnt gunna go to fast for 5 gears. how old are you? this is the dumbest question ever? are you slow? 6th gear is just overdrive. you arent guna pick up more than 1 or 2 mpg from swapping trannys. SEARCH!!!

You do not save any gas by swapping a six speed gear box into your car.

S13 KADE's 5th gear is .759S15 SR's 6th gear is .767

So you are not saving gas in the first place already. Plus your speedometer is not going to work with some custom work.

That's why people tell you to search.

Read what you write- I have 5 gears, already. I'm not asking for smartassed f***ing responses, so stop the insults.

I really don't see what my age has to do with anything, but I'm 21, apparently it is the dumbest question ever, and no, I'm not slow, btw- it probably matters more that I'm a chick that doesn't know anything about swaps and whatnot. And I did search, but all I came up with was SR20 s*** whenever I typed in 6spd 240 swap, so I figured I'd ask a simple question. However thanks for at least telling me how little my mileage will improve.

I dont know if you read what that dude said bout the 5 and 6th gear in the trannys being so close together or not, but your mileage will not improve! Sorry this isnt the fast and furious and we dont have 7 speed mitsus or 240s.

douche bag central in this thread.

red-s13, all i can tell you is to do the math on the gear ratios for the stock 5-speed and the 6-speed to see if there will be any fuel savings at all, and if it would be worth the swap. a bell housing swap will be required and some custom wiring will need to be done as well.

as far as the struts are concerned, go with the kyb gr2's as was already suggested.

Thanks

And I'm definately going with the GR2's. Now I'm just trying to figure out if I have HICAS or not, but it might be a dumb question too.

look on the cluster for a hicas light. if it's there, you got it, if not, you don't. simple as that.

nm, you have a zenki. s13 zenkis weren't available with the hicas option.

Okay, definately don't have it then. Awesome. I love the way my car handles without it. Sorry to keep on you, but occasionally when I park and shut off my car there's this little pump thing that comes on and it seems to be coming from the back end and then it'll shut off after about 10-15 seconds. It sounds like the air shock pump on my moms 91 towncar. Wtf? I'm positive that I DO NOT have air shocks.. I just wanna know what the sound is.. sorry, lol.

there's a fuel pump in the back.

you may be triggering it to prime when you are twisting your key to turn your car off and remove it.

Good, lol. I always think it's best to have a second opinion anyway. Can't help it, I'm a chick. I'll won't doubt what 1 person says, but I'll secretly wait for another to say the same thing. Watch out for that in life. :wink Wtf, no winking smiley. LAME.

Oh.
