^ Really dude?

Not everyone wants to roll and pull their fenders. And not everyone wants to be "hella flush." I'd hate to see the dude purchase those wheels and hate the way they fit. "Ideal" is all perspective, and many will agree that 245/45 on a 9.5" wheel is hardly ideal.

He doesn't even know if a chuki bumper is interchangeable with a pignose one and you're trying to get him into these low offset wheels from the start?

He'd be getting a little over his head trying to fit those large wheels to where it looks good. And I'm assuming he doesn't have access to a fender roller either, so he'll probably damage his fenders and paint in the process.

Just sayin. I don't want people getting something they regret later on down the road.

Yeah, I guess sometimes I forget that there is a learning curve for wheel fitment... Can't always go straight from stock sunken battleship to hellaflush hero overnight.

To clarify, I'm 17 years old. I am currently going to school and focusing on school so I DON'T have a job, not even a part-time job. This is my first car and I don't have $2,800 on wheels. Until I get a job, my dad is buying everything for my car. I will never claim to own TE 37's, and I could care less what everyone else thinks about my Rota's when I get them. My family is not rich so I have to work with what my dad can give me for my car since he's working on fixing his 240sx as well. Like I said, these wheels are temporary, my car doesn't even have stock Nissan rims right now. When I have money for TE 37's, I will buy them. And when I do, I will not s*** on 17 year old's who are just starting to work on their car's and buy Rota's or any other type of "imitation" wheels. The only thing that would anger me is if they claim that they're real. But I would never do that so if you want to s*** on me for not being fortunate enough to be wealthy, go right ahead. I don't be the one looking like a d!ck.

I've also been working and fixing engine parts, etc. I'm getting my car painted as we speak, and I ordered my 180sx Kouki tail lights. The way I look at it, I could have TE 37's and not have a new paint job, no tail lights, no engine fixes. Which I think would be completely stupid and a disgrace to TE 37's. Or I could fix engine bits to make my car run better, get a paint job, get my Kouki tail lights, and get some wheels that look like the wheels I will own in the future, just for now.

okk first off the s13 is a drift car that i use every once in a while but i mostly use my s14 for daily driven activites and so on... and second i dont rock fake crappy rims because i accuatly care about my car and i use work equips.. so suck on that who ever doubted me
I love people that talk crap about fake wheels. Pretty sure i can touch them so they are real. I love works and what not but im not going to drive around town on wheels that are 2000+. Thats f***ing retarted, if you do so then hey keep eating taco bell to repair your rim that the curb ate.

Same reason i dont rock "real" wheels is the same reason my car isnt .3mm from the ground, i like to drive. not slowly drive around wondering wtf is happening to my $2000+ wheels.

If you have a problem with it STFU and keep you opinion to your self. If you hate rota's suggest some works or advans and call it a day.

BTW i hope u get food poisoning from trying to afford your "REAL" wheels.

Yeah I don't want to be "hella flush", which I'm still not 100% sure of what that means. I don't want my car to be unnecessarily low, it will be my every day driver. I just want some nice looking big, but not too big rims. And no, I don't have a fender roller and I would rather not do that.

work's are sick ofcourse everyone knows this... but honestly they are all gonna get destroyed if your a serious sideways kind of guy no rim can hold up to a tire being ripped off it and ur grinding asphault and plus some of the sickest wheels in my opinion are diamond racing steelies and those b****es are 60 bucks a wheels so gives a s*** if there expensive or not they all will get raped unless its just for cosmetics its your car put whatever u want on it (exept american racing lol)

Well I'm not going to be racing or drifting, so Rota's should hold up for a while?

Rotas will be fine for about anything. Don't listen to the stuck up "only $2k wheels for a $2k car" people.

Exactly. There was only one guy in this thread being a douchebag about Rotas, OP. So don't get down about it. The rest of us would probably rock Rota as well or either not give a phuck. Personally, I love Rota. I don't really even consider their two most popular wheels knock-offs anymore really. Why?

-Because The LM-GT4's (which Rota P45R resemble) are long since discontinued. P45R is the only wheel currently in the market in that style.

-Because Volk TE-37's aren't available with as much concavity as Rota Grids. Plus TE-37's come with a lip now... Grids don't.

Not to mention neither ever came in 4 lug pattern. If they're gonna totally neglect that market, I say F*** them. I am not converting to 5 lug on a daily driver when there are alot of nice 4 lug wheels available all over the price spectrum. We dictate the market... the market doesn't dictate us.

I think it's important to decide how you want your car to look before you start shelling out some cash. 'Hella-Flush' is the term given to cars that are low enough not to have any wheelgap or open/negative space between the tire and the car's fenders. Another requirement of being 'Hella-Flush' is that your wheels must be flush with that fenders of your car, not being sunken or recessed into your wheelwells.

Here's a good example of a 'Hella-flush' car on Rotas:

Some ppl mat say things like 'Stretched tires are stupid! Durrr!'. But bottom line is how you want your car to look. If you need more traction: you can always just buy a stickier compound tire. There's a lot of grey area on this subject. You can go for an extreme tire stretch or some realy mild and barely noticeable. But it's all up to you.
