i dunno if this is worth nething- but a buddy of mine at work is a cocky lil rich bastard and keeps dissing my coupe and says my 2.5 cant do sh*t etc. he's been naggin on me racing him (he has a 04 audi A4 V6 - i think awd too?) and yesterday we hit our lil strip we take to get home and hit a red signal...

needless to say off the line- i was at 1800ish rpm, and shot into first, a quick 2/3 and i was half a carlength ahead, in 4th gear i just pulled and i think he either broke/slowed down/gave up or just has no top end... but idk- he has an automatic and its an audi... lol so im just thinkin nethings possible now haha

next signal he didnt say anything to me, today at work he didnt even mention the race

im deff gna say it- i thought i'd lose. i kno many v6's r better than our QR, but hell, i was up for the challenge and it was super fun

I dunno dude...I think something might've been wrong with his car. The V6 is more powerful than the 2.0T, and that thing would smoke our QR no problem. I mean, I've got the 2.5 and I love it to death, but I can't see it winning any races...unless it's against a Kia.

Did this guy even know you there was a "race" going on?

Just wondering... Half the street "races" are people that mash their pedal when the light turns green against someone oblivious to the fact that there's a "race." I kind of read your story like that given that you said he slowed down as if he wasn't trying and hadn't acknowledged the race afterwards.

ok- when i said "needless to say" i skipped the mumbo jumbo about the chit chat before and at the light. just like saying "long story short" if its too long ppl wont read it i didnt want to write a book lol as we were nearing the light, and then stopped at it he said 'lets run this'- i shrugged and nodded my head and we went there was another light ahead and we just played tag back and forth after that one he knew we were going, it was his idea, i tried my best. thats all i can say

that is a definate no!!!! the CVT does funcky things off the line sometimes, but in a 1/4 mile, it would own a GT and a GTP... GTO is a whole nother story, but no way does a GTP take a 3.5 A/C!
Hell a buddy of mine had a grand prix GT and i have a 2.5, we didnt start dead even he was already about a half car length infront of me when we went, he pulled ahead in the beginning but i started catching up but had to back off pretty quick cause up the road a car pulled in my lane. That was before my exhaust. he has a new G6 Convertible now with the 3.5 and i think id take him now.

Anyway I think the 02 GTP had a 4 speed in it anyway. 6spd FTW! But the GTP does have more torque so he may take you off the line. So depending on how long the strip is you would probably win

4 speed available on Grand Prix. It comes in only automatic box.

As I was saying earlier, before Rob P grew pubes and started being annoying, 0-60 km/h off the line, my GT owned my girl's 3.5

The two of us have no idea about quarter mile, but a 2.5 would have no chance against the V6, whether it was Grand Prix GT or GTP (which is technology from 1997 - when the particular engine series II was released).
