Just thought I'd give an update:Bad news, It has only been a couple of months and although I still have pressure enough to engauge the a/c it no longer blows cold. THere is quite a bit of oil on the bottom of the compressor also. I might try a can of leak stop next year when it gets warm up here again. I guess it's done, it was nice while I had it. Good luck to the rest of you!

Head down to autozone and ask to borrow a freon leak detector. It's kinda like a geiger counter for refrigerant. You can use it to pinpoint exactly where the leak is. If I were you I'd replace the oring at that location. I wouldn't recommend stopleak or anything of the sort, but it's your decision.

I had the same problem, that I fixed this week. Sometimes AC would work and sometimes it woudlnt

AC compressor clutch wouldn't engageAC light was ONAux fax wouldnt spin unless AC was blowing coldFreon levels was normal.

I read the troubleshooting guide found here at 240sx.org and followed the steps. After thinking I found the problem, I hooked up all the wiring back up and now my AC has been working all week. Must have been a loose wire.

I suggest to use that guide and after you put everything together if its an electrical problem you may have it fixed as well.
