Ok i hate to ask this because im back to a stock setup to keep my car more reliable, Ok so i got a stock s13 blacktop with t25,

here is the problem...It idles Great..drives slow Awesome..but when i step it on..its got no balls at all, I hear the turbo spool to 9psi but its like im not going anywhere.

I timed it to 15 degrees too

I did a compression test and im around 150psi when the motor is alittle warm

I was thinking maybe its my sparkplugs? they are bkr7's with .28gap, boost leak? Or is it the way i wired up the fuel pump? I used a 40amp relay and a 30amp fuse holder. Is it because im using a e5 ecu on a 62 redtop harness? Is it because im not using an O2 sensor?

if anyone has an idea please let me know

If youre running stock everything and No 02 sensor...youre gonna have power problems.

what does an 02 sensor have to do with anything? thats only good from 1-3k rpm..after that it does nothing. and at 9psi it really felt like a decent ka24de could walk by me

the 02 sensor tells the car whether or not its running properly and without it your gonna get a real bad AF plus youll be dumping fuel like a carbed v8

Yea, I didnt know the 02 Sensor stopped giving a relevant signal after 3000 RPM. But thats new to me.

check for vacuum/boost leaks.

most OBD1 vehicles will go into an open loop mode if the o2 sensor is unplugged, its not that big of deal, It sounds like your haveing the same problem Ive had except mine is intermitent, every once in a while it does this, no power even at 10 psi, Ive found reseting my ecu cures the problem.

YZF R6 is what I might end up getting for a DD....The 13 needs to be off the road for some serious overhaul. Still going AEM EMS and 2876R but that won't be for a while.

my car is kinda having the same problem so i'll just post here rather than start a new thread.

Was running fine, took motor/transmission out to change timing cover/oil pump, put everything back in the way it was, here is the problem:

My car feels good if I don't floor it. It will build lots of boost but the AFR drops to 10 and the car has absolutely no power. It seems to do it a little more when warm than cold, but I can't tell for sure because I never go above 3k until at NOT.

Could bad spark plugs cause this? I have some new iridiums but I'm scared to put them in and foul them up.

I was thinking that the clutch was slipping, but it's a new clutch and if I drop it it grabs hard.

Also thinking boost leak, but it builds boost, jsut the fuel is not getting burned.

Am I running hot and getting my timing retarded or something?

Problem Solved..Turns out it was a timing problem, even though i timed it at 15 degrees for some reason it was 15 degrees retarted so i put it back how i remember the old redtop cas used to be and now it has all the power.

FSU even though it builds boost..doesn't mean it doesn't have a boost leak..think of it like this..you suck ar in into the maf, the maf tells the ecu and the ecu makes the fuel ratio but if you have a boost leak somewhere in your IC piping or anywhere else..that calculated air isn't getting inside the motor for mixure so in turn your getting more fuel then air. Deffently do a boost leak test and maybe even check your maf for the right voltage.

well it builds boost pretty well, and when the car is acting right I can boost up to 19psi.

the MAF is a new reman one so it should be fine.

What are the symptoms of bad plugs? they are gapped right.

they also go into open loop when u go wide open throttle....so 02 is irrelevant really....double check timing and MAKE SURE U FOLLOW THE FSM TO THE T
