Well yae they're the best bang for the buck, but if you cant afford the downtime on your car, then the GSX/GS-T isnt the right car to have. I want a 97-99 so bad though.

The problems I had with mine were, blown headgasket from over heating (that was my fault installed a new raidaitor and didn't bleed it). Broke my 122k GSX transmission smacking down my friends Turbo Mcoupe. It's a very fun car to have I'll buy another 1st gen when I'm done with my 240.

i have a friend who was a warranty clerk for mitsu dealer and then a nissan dealer. she said mitsus break a lot more often, warranty does not want to cover anything(by the way the lancer evo has zero drivetrain warranty, new policy), and generally are just a pain in the butt. she is a mustang fanatic so she is completely impartial to "all those jap-craps". she acknoledges that nissan is much better though. i also have a friend in my shop that used to wrench at a mitsu dealer and now wrenches in a bay near mine at the nissan dealer. he said mitsus are some falling apart pieces of crap but they are easier to change parts on(he is into ford trucks so he is impartial as well). he likes how much easier it is to get his hands on stuff. one day he pointed out to me that i should check every mitsu used car that came through the shop. he showed me(and i verified that) every four cyl leaked oil and every v6 burned it. except in the case of mitsus with less than like 15k on the odo. i dont hate mitsu, i just love nissan. my wife says i love nissan more than her! i dont.

not anything new this is a nissan board. Not everyone can own a DSM, only people who can work on cars should. Mine was a pain when I broke it. I cursed it and said I would sell it. After I fixed it jumped on the FWY and raced a few cars I changed my mind everytime. Nothing like a good AWD launch :( going to miss it.

It wasn't that great of a boom. It was after the race we were slowing down and I heard a Thunk lol. The transmission was messed up when I got the car I just finished it off. It was for the better because I picked up a JDM GVR4 transmission and it was WAYYYYYYYY better. I had a 1st gear I could use, Normaly I would launch then it seemed like 3 sec after I launch I'm ****ing into 2nd gear. The GVR4 transmission felt like a normal car (taller 1st gear).

Just got done cruising with my friend in his Evo. Say what you want about Mitsu's, but I absolutely love his Evo. (I admit I wouldn't mind having a 2nd gen GSX though to go with my S14...)

speaking of EVOs and bad trannys...

Mitsubishi just expunged ALL drivetrain warranties an all EVOs.

yellow4g63: Was the mcoupe turbocharged by ActiveAutowerke? or was it a piece-meal kit? What kind of numbers are you good for in the 1/8, 1/4 in your talon?

Got rid of or cancelled.

Mitsu is no longer covering drivetrain warraries any more. So if your Evo breaks you gotta pay for it.

I don't know which company it was. It was a carb legal kit he had on his car. My best before I sold it was a 13.10@108 :( missing 4th gear. Turned out my shifter cables needed to be changed too.

I was having problems all day long. Missing 2nd or missing 4th or missing them all. Launching too high and just spining the tires hitting the revlimiter :( It sucked. I wish I took it back after I fixed the cable I know I could have done alot better.
