i just installed an aftermarket deck, keeping the bose amps and speakers with success.
the bose head unit doesnt have the regular (40 watts x 4) speaker output that most hu have. instead it just has pre amp outputs (like the red white rca plugs on the back of an aftermarket hu). each one runs to one stock a stock amplifier, then to the speaker.(on my 98 i30, each speaker has its own amp.)
if you have 3 pre amp outputs (front rear and sub) on the back of your deck you don't need any any special adaptors. you can just splice a couple rca cables and connect them to the speaker inputs.if not you can buy a hi level to low level adaptor at walmart for like 10 bucks.
i bought a regular adapter at best buy for $20 so i wouldnt have to cut any stock wires.
you have to connect the amp on/off wire to a switched power source. i just used the remote wire on my deck.
i know this info is allready out there, but i had a hard time finding it. so i thought id try and make it easy for future searchers.
