Im from sacramento and I Just did the swap in my 96 s14 following the writeup at:
auto-to-manual-writeup-5-speed-conversion-t181139.html
My question is, now that it's done all electrical has been double checked, it cranks but won't start. I get spark and can hear the fuel prime. I only pulled one code from the auto ecu which was P1605 A/T Diagnostics communication line. Which of course is to be expected since its been removed. I swapped over from the 96 S14 auto ecu to the 95 S14 manual ecu and get no codes but it still cranks and fails to start. Everything sounds normal but it won't fire up. I get the same result with both ecu's.
Any ideas or suggestions on what I've maybe missed?
Manual transmission is from a 97 kouki. I used my auto harness since I didn't have a manual harness at the time.
Also, did everyone that used the auto harness cut the sensor plugs off and just use butt splices? I used quick taps for now in case I find a manual harness down the road, I can still use my sensors with their plugs.
