Another way to tell is to look in your engine bay on the left side towards the firewall. Right around your master cylinder for your brakes WOULD be a box with many steel lines going to it, that WOULD be your ABS control unit, but since you don't have a SE, you don't have one. Don't think that ALL SE's came with them though, they didn't "cough cough MINE cough cough".

Hope this helps,Rubin

P.S. Also, I think they only way to get the ABS was w/LSD, but I maybe mistaken. At least in all my time here I have never heard or seen a base model with ABS.

Ummm.... I only read to this post because I was sick of the misinformation... and then I saw a mod contributing to it so I had to respond. I am sorry if someone has already corrected this.

I have a 95 base model sitting in my drivway WITH ABS!! It has the VLSD, power everything, sun/moon roof etc etc etc. It is NOT an SE... and it DOES have the ABS. If you don't believe me I'll go snap some pics tomorrow.

Sweet!!

The farther I read on... the smarter people get!!!:D

Thanks Apexi....

I need to find the link... but it gives the complete list of ALL factory options for every year of the US S14. I have the print out from the site around here some where, and I've had to whip it out regularly to straighten out some of the misconceptions.

In a nut shell (and like I said... I can go take pics to prove it), the base model 95 and 96 could come with ABS and VLSD together or seperate. The SE is a whole other ball game... but not all SE's have both.

I just happen to be one of the lucky few that got both in a base model.

I believe all s14's come with front sways. The SE had rear sways as well. That is about the only reason I wish I had an SE... although it's a pretty cheap after-market upgrade. I prefer the 4-lug 15's and lack of rear spoiler... I"m all about the sleeper baby!

EDIT: Ahhh... you like-a the new name?! Right now I'm stressed to hell trying to pack up and be moved out of state by Monday.

Funny you mention paint lists. I was just looking for paint codes the other day. For some stupid reason the Nissan dealer couldn't give me a price on a front grill without the damned paint code!? I can't find a source yet... but I'm still searching. I'll let you know if I stumble across anything.

Like Dan said! I wake up in a cold sweat envisioning an old 510 with a 13B-REW under the hood!!

Mmmmm... twin turbo twin rotor.... bwaaaaaaaa!!

But seriously...

No one can touch the nasty rev potential of the Mazda/Wankel engines. And Nissan just makes some sexy-a$$ cars... so why not.
