Does anybody here have a base model 1995-1996 240 that has ABS??

my first 240 had abs it was an se the one i have now is not an se and it doesnt have abs there both 95's i guess the se is the only one that comes with abs im not sure thought cause besides that the only real difference between mine now and the one before (bisides the stock 16' rims spoiler sunroof...) is thats this one is stick

It will say ABS on the vin in the front window if I remember correctly.

i have a 96 240 SE with ABS .... i was under the impression that only SE's came with ABS but i'm not positive

i have a base 95 and no ABS. Im pretty sure it only came with the blasted five lugged SEs. Well my s15 headlights make up for the 4 missing nuts.

You should see a ABS light on your cluster during the pre-ignition start. Any S14 with ABS also has LSD...

I thought that only 95-96 SEs and 97-98 SEs and LEs had ABS, but the brochures say that 95-96 it was an option for base model...just wondering if it was true or not...

Give the man a cookie cause he is correct!!!!!!! No SE=No ABS.

Another way to tell is to look in your engine bay on the left side towards the firewall. Right around your master cylinder for your brakes WOULD be a box with many steel lines going to it, that WOULD be your ABS control unit, but since you don't have a SE, you don't have one. Don't think that ALL SE's came with them though, they didn't "cough cough MINE cough cough".

P.S. Also, I think they only way to get the ABS was w/LSD, but I maybe mistaken. At least in all my time here I have never heard or seen a base model with ABS.

I heard the 95 SEs with ABS all had LSD, but in 96 you could get the ABS without the LSD (though not the other way around). That's just hearsay though.

Ok, this is how it is. Any SE can have abs/lsd, but it is an option. All LE's it is standard. No base models have ABS/LSD. So if you have a base model 240, you dont have abs or lsd, because you either have one or the other.

well i was under the impression that you could only get a LSD in canada and australia ( one of the perks of being up north

) although i don't know why they would do that ... about the ABS i htought that the 240s basically had three option packages ... and that there was little customization that you could do with just the basic model

96 base model - no ABS, no LSD(S15 specR HLSD now, or at least as soon as i can find the output shafts), but it has a leather interior in really good condition WOOHOO

some1 tell me this... the base model's spposedly came with no swaybars...but mine has a front swaybar...but not rear...

my se did not come with abs or lsd. it also didnt come with a rear sway bar; however, it still has the holes for the mounting of the bar for i now have the tanabe rear sway bar you just need the mounting pieces off of a junkyard 240.
