No i kept the old ones but i sent them to an injector cleaning/repair service and the guy said they were good, they do tick louder than before but i was wondering if they were sticking open could the excess fuel in the cylinder cause it to knock?

Yeah I'm with Ziggy on the noise I think that's just bad lifter tick.

I think on top of that your running lean which would cause the bad gas mileage AND the strong gas smell from the exhaust. So like nissanfreak said one or more of them is probably sticking, spraying extra fuel into the cylinder. To avoid more problems you should just replace all 6 of them.

Yea you're probably right about the lifters, i bought some marvel to see if that will help so we'll see, but im gonna check the cam gears this weekend to see if there bad cause i can definitely hear some rattle coming from them, and i noticed today when it gets to certain higher rpms and i keep it there for a second the knock goes away and it sounds fine, is that something a colapsed lifter would do?

It's possible because at higher rpms oil pressure increases, which might affect a stuck lifter. Usually a collapsed lifter is loud all the time though. Post an update about the cam gears

not yet i took the timing belt off over the weekend and the gears seem ok but i got new springs to see if that will help, although i did notice the adjuster on the t-belt tensioner was collapsed and leaking so i put another one on to see if that will help so ill have it put back together tomorrow and ill let u know if it helped.

Na i put on that other tensioner i had and the auto adjuster piston collapsed and wont hold the tension so i have a new one on the way. I also bought a consult cable to see if datascan can tell me anything once its running again.

Wow theres no way i would have figured that out, but congrats. Im still having the same problem as before, in fact after changing the vtc springs and auto tensioner the noise actually got louder and sounds completely different.

Well from watching your video you low fuel light is on and your just a bit under the E on your fuel gauge, could your injectors possibly be affected or damaged? I can remember being told by someone if you run your car on empty it could damage your injectors
