There's the rub: quiet and good wet traction don't go together because wet traction means soft fast wearing rubber compound.
Michelin Pilot H4 will be the quietest but the 400 tradwear is undesirable for better than average wet weather. They stay pretty soft for the first year or 15,000 miles
The Firestone Sz50 EP are quiet and excellant in wet but directional and not useful below 32F.......but will be soft for 20,000 miles or 18 months.
The sipes when feathered are what make most of the noise on the DB.
90% of hydroplanning [assuming at least half tread] is from underinflated tires [not running 35-36 psi] not the tread pattern......the rain cools the tires and the pressure drops!
