I have done a search and not found the answer.

Does anyone know what the weight of the '94' Q45a OEM Nissan/BBS 15x6.5 wheel is?

Thanks for the help.

He lists a couple of BBS at around at around 10 to 11 lbs in 15x6.5 and a Nissan M30 15x6.5 at 17lbs.

I did not find a Q listing.

Lots of good stuff, but no OEM 15x6.5.

So is this possible?

It looks like the OEM BBS 15x6.5 for the '94' Q45a weigh about 11 lbs.

OK, where did I come up with that? I had to do a little interpolaiton.

The tires on the car are Mitchelin Symetry 215x65x15. Yes I realize this is only 95S tire, but it is a 35 psi tire. I will change them soon for higher load rating and higher speed rating.

I am considering the Pirelli 225x65x15 P4000E, expensive but, 180 A A, 99W, SL(whatever that means) and a 44 psi tire.

So, the best I can estimate the Symetry in this size weighs 24 lbs. The wheel tire combination weighs 35 lbs, I just weighed them. Therefore, the wheel is approximately 11 lbs!

WOW, now that is a nice, low, unsprung combination!

Bruce,

Pirelli are a bit noisy tires. When I replaced my tires (02 Q45) with Dunlop with 100Y load index, I inflated it to 40 psi and it was stiff. I had to deplated it to 35psi. What a difference in ride.

Percy,

Good to hear from you. Which Pirelli model do you have experience with.

I had some Pirelli's on my Jag XJ12 and they were fine.

What is the max pressure on the Dunlops you are referring to?

Bruce,

They are Pirelli P6. This was for my Honda and not for 02 Q45. My Q had the Nexen tires on it but replaced it with Dunlop Sport Maxx. It is rated for +44 psi. Also my Q is lowered (JDM Swift springs).

The primary difference between 35>36>44>51 psi maximum inflation is as the max increases, the NATURAL sidewall stiffness declines. They rely more on air presssure [ballon effect] to make up sidewall stiffness.
