Most have already had 5-6-7-10 owners, with each succesive owner purchasing it for less dollars therefor unwilling/unable to properly spend the $ required to properly maintain it.

Get a much newer, economical, easier car to maintain.
You gotta know when to hold em, when to fold em, when to walk away, when to run......sounds like its time to start over with a newer, less needy car. Sit down and create a list of everything your car needs{current plenum job is $1000 if you do it yourself correctly}.....need injectors? chain guides? suspension? bodywork? hows the air conditioning system? etc....get a real picture of total costs and make a good solid decision based on your available time and money, as you are at a "fork in the road" with your current situation.

That's a great suggestion but I think he wants a nice car that runs and drives then when he gets money he will restore/fix everything else.

But Injectors and under plenum hoses are a priority.

But of course see if it passes the coolant pressure test, hell hook up with mike on this one or call him and see what he says too.

body is least worried right now.Everything works fine and i was gonna get injectors this weekend maybe from paul but now dunno maybe have to get them next week.Everything else is fine. Was suppose to clean throttle body at school today. No code pop ups a/c ice cold heater as warm as the sun.All i was gonna do to make it all good were the injectors but now it's the hose.So i'm looking at i'll estimate $200+ unless theres more hoses i see that need to be replaced.Right now i can afford to get rid of this car or get a new one.So might as well fix it.I bought all suspension parts and everything for it to be dropped.I dont really want another car i just wanna stick and work with Q's for now since i'm still learning how good of cars they are.If i had a honda i might of blown the engine, crashed it,got it impounded, or worse just dumped money into the ricer.Feel me i chose a Q to make sure i dont dump money into unimportant things. And because i think how spacey it is.Would of rather got a 94 but at the time i bought it this was the cheapest one and ran well.

Still think im just gonna do the job and once i look down there and do the pressure test that'll tell me weather to sell, buy,or replace i guess i'll update once the plenum is off.I tahnk for the suggestion rex but again it's just money we don't have we are paying off my brother's yaris that my mom now owns and paying off the family yukon.

Biggest hole in family better say parents budget is i have a 20year old brother doing nothing with his life.He goes to a community college lives for free, eats for free (eats everything in 3days),drives for free and has NO JOB!!!All he does it meditate and keeps realing religious books about how he'll be rich because in his second life he'll repay my parents.I do so understand what phase he is or what he says but come on he says working is no fun.So i have to battle with this everytime.Lol wrote my life hahaha

If you're in a bind, don't mind getting your hands dirty, and you are crafty, you can replace all the under plenum hoses for less than $50.00.

Finally, a wise voice! This is like the blind leading the blind. If you don't wrench for a living expect a plenum job to "rock your world" boys.Sorry guys, it's not a walk in the park.

I take auto class ROP where all we do is work on cars if we want a grade. But might as well do it.I realized most people here talk and advise but i kind of need an advice for someone with no money and parents who are tight on money not someone who can out of nowhere pull 2k out and buy a new car feel me?

But i do take all advise and keep in mind.So guess time to start taking plenum off. It'll be a fun trip and i'll enjoy it

Bring that brother to NY or Boston or Lynn, MA and see how fast he will be changed around. Or sign him up for the marines or Navy they will straighten him out alright.

But I think your doing if you went with a 1994 you would have to deal with that man mix door problem which sounds like a *****, But between 1990-1993 Q45 chain guide death the 1994 Q45 with no heat or A/C due to the mix door death seems like the oblivious option.

But I think you should just buy the hoses you need and throw some 303 aerospace protectant on all of them to see of that prolong there life.
will call shops and stores to see all pricing tomorrow will post them up.

I read on here somewhere that the metric size hoses are correct. I bought the hoses from IOS when I did mine, but with patience many could be found at the local parts store

Carefully remove the plenum while taking pictures of how everything is. Don't pry the plenum off, pause and find what is holding it.

There are 2 heater hoses on the passenger side rear of the motor to the firewall. There are 2 small hoses (around 3/8) that flow coolant thru the throttle body. There are the 2 large radiator type hoses in the picture below.

Look for split vacuum lines. Replacing as many hoses as you can with new softer ones will make reassembly a lot easier.

Good time to do knock sensors also.

Find the lengths and diameters of needed hoses from you local part store and document it here. This would save much money in the future for members.

I was thinking of taking all the hose's i'll replace and ask for them then replace them and also post sizes up.My knock sensors are good right now like i said i would if i had the money,or if some job would've hired my in 2008 until now none,i would. But thanks for the heads up i probably would've tried to pry it off too. Well check in later most likely i'll start taking things off tomorrow or saturday. My engine is miserable right now coolant all over.Hopefully the hoses down there are replaced already from previous owner but we'll never know. Thanks guys this helps a lot.

edit:good thing i know how to take the throttle body off.
