i am wondering about this , would it adversely affect anything? and would it help with anything? ive ran it a few times and it seems to run cleaner , and by this i mean , it accels more smothly and just feels like a new motor. no huge hp gains or anything like that. just wondeing some of your opinions on this...by the way its 10 degrees in NY right now .

i'd run at least 91 on my 240, 93 if i had advanced timing or something of that sort.

higher octane can loose a few hp(if its too high, say over 100 octane), 93 is fine, it wont hurt anything, i run it just for the peace of mind.

I though it was recomended on the KA24.

I'm pretty sure there's a sticker somewhere on my S14 that reads "Premium Only". Maybe on the fuel door, I can't remember right off.

I've read that your have to run 91 octane on the ka24 and since almost all gas station either have 89 or 93 as the closest octane rating to 91, I've been running 93 octane for a while now with no problems at all. Before I found this out I was using 87 since it is cheaper but post switching to 93 i noticed that my gas mileage increased with using 93 octane.

there is zero reason to run anything higher than 87 for an NA ka, if you feel benefits from 93 octane it is your imagination. But if that makes u happy go for it. Search google for some tech articles or something if u dont believe me

So I guess Nissan thought it would be a cool idea to put this sticker on the car for no apparent reason.

There is no such sticker on obd1 cars, 96+ cars probably have a slightly different fuel map.

For the rest of us there are no benefits unless the timing is advanced or the fuel map is changed.

I have a na ka and I use nothing but 93 octane. My jim wolf ecu requires 91 or better. In Ny. It's a pain to try and find it.Most stations have 87,89, 93. Theres always the good old 100 octane that makes my car even funner to drive lol. In the owners manual for my 93 it says to use a minimum octane rating of 91 for maximum performance. Otherwise you can use 87.

This is direct quote from the s13 n/a ka24de fsm "Precautions for fuel Use unleaded premium gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91 AKI(Anti-Knock Index) number(research octane number 96) If unleaded premium gasoline is no available, unleaded regular gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 AKI(research octane number 91) can be used. However, for maximum vehicle perfomance, the use of unleaded premium gasoline is recommended." Hey man its good to see some one else form NY. Dont really see that many 240sx's around here however they have been poping up more and more lately

I run 93 and octane booster in my 240 when i autocross and 91-93 for daily driving. it probably doesn't help but I like to think it does, at least I'm hoping it'll keep the beast running until my new motor is built and installed

I don't know how many of you have the Owners manual but it basically says right in it to use at least 91 octane, but if you HAVE to 87-89 is okay but only temporary...

Both my '91 and '95 have those stickers on the gas lid.

You drive a sports car, wouldnt you want max performance. Plus, I highly doubt it took 5 min. to take that pic, maby like 3-4.
