Hi I am purchasing a factory Nissan cd player to go into my hatchback. Along with it I am looking to purchase some new speakers. Here is what I have collected at Ebay so far.

Infinity Kappa Setup

4x6 - (2 front, door mounted speakers)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

6.5 - (2 Rear, hatch speakers)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Alpine Setup

4x6 - (2 front, door mounted speakers)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

6.5 - (2 Rear, hatch speakers)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Would any of these setups work? What do you guys think? Thanks.

what do you mean, do they work? as long as you can run wires to the headunit, yeah, sound will come out of them, lol.

if you are wanting to know about the quality, my OPINION is Alpine stuff is overrated, the Kappas have to be at least as good.

dont take this the wrong way, but have you been to a car audio store? you can go and demo the speakers and ask people there for info even if you dont intend to buy.

Don't wanna thread-jack, but I have a question in relation to this. How is it possible to get those two 6.5 speakers in the rear? From what I recall there's only enough room for 4x6 speakers to fit?

Don't you have a fastback Uberck? According to that thread, only the coupe could have 6.5 speakers in the rear.

Not from what I can tell, unless you remove the bracket inside and make a custom bracket to mount 6.5s

No disrespect or flame intended, man, but you don't seem to have any idea what you're talking about.

1) A stock CD player doesn't really "handle" anything relative to the speakers. The speakers take what the deck and/or amp(s) give them. The only way the power of a speaker is a real problem is if you're trying to run subs or something off a deck without an amp.

2) Also, pretty much any aftermarket speakers with a decent name (as long as they don't have the same paper cones) are going to sound tons better than the 15-year old stock speakers your car came with.

3) The speakers in an S13 hatch are all 4x6's. There are easy ways to get around that, but searching should help you with that.

Wait a sec... what I have is the factory am/fm tuner and hooked up to the tuner underneath it is a 94 nissan maxima stock cd player. One guy told me that if I were to purchase powerful aftermarket speakers my current set up wouldn't push out enough power to get quality sound. Now you are saying that if I replaced the speakers with some high end alpines for example it would sound fine and there would be enough power?

Either you're joking (tough to tell - sarcasm doesn't play well on the internet) or you're a little on the clueless side about this, too. Stock speakers on an S13 hatch are all 4x6. Ask anyone else. Or see this thread: zerothread/12043. You can modify the doors to take bigger speakers, but the stock ones are 4x6. No questions, no doubt.

Yep. That is exactly what I'm saying. A factory deck may not give you the very best sound that the speakers are capable of, but they will still sound tons better than stock speakers. Get 'em and go for it.

you could always buy the deck first then get front speakers and wait for the rears(fayceoff is correct). you can fit a 5x7 in the front WITH modifications. rear speakers are over rated lol. and yes you can run everything off of a stock deck, but they will still sound kind of crummy

A bit late, but need to quelch a few things. S13 hatches have 4x6's all the way around. You can make your own adapters for bigger speakers or you can use the ~$14 ebay PVC ones (which I used up front and they worked great). the 6.5 adapters for the back require cutting trim to work. I just removed my back speakers bc I went for SQ and have Infinity reference 6.5 components up front. Both stock speaker locations have "holders" that hold the 4x6's, remove the fronts and there's a giant hole in the door, so you have to make/use an adapter. In the back, if you remove the holder, the hole that is left looks big enough to accomadate a 5x7 (I measured, but don't remember how big the opening was). It's still oval in shape and should be big enough. S13 coupes have the 6.5 on the back deck. Infinity over Alpine for highs/mids/components IMHO.

hey go here, crutchfield.comI think it said 4x6's on the door and 5x7's in the rear hatchalso when your doing head units to power speakers, match up the ohms to get the best quality, or take it a step up and run all your door speakers to an amp. hope this helps

...I am thinking about taking pics of the hackjob i did on my door panels to fit 6X9s all of the hatch speakers have these horrid little yellow plastic bracketish mount things and you can remove those so that you can you can fit a bigger speaker in there with a little common sense modification
