Mike,Trust me I understand the problem all to well. But I see the shops side of the story as well. They don't want to be responsible for any damage that might occur on an unknown vehicle. That and the person on the other side of the phone just looks at a application list and doesn't see 'Infiniti' on there anywhere so you get a big NO and they won't sell you the part. I've heard stories of guys having Nissan dealers drop in the J30 motor into their Z with no adjustements. This story might not be true, but it's believable as everyone seems to agree that the motors are identical in everyway (year to year that is)
