Not a bad start!
One of the first things I did with my car was clean up and did some easy fixes here and there to keep her in proper working order.

Got any rust underneath?

Yea im in the process of cleaning it up and doing little maintainance things now (speaking of that, best spark plugs? and whats the gap?) and yea there is a bit of rust on the frame rail :frown:

it looks like a jack punched through in that area, but the good news is its the only rusted area, ill probably get something welded overtop of it soon.

Yeah, grind that sucker down to bare metal and get it welded up and you should be good to go.

For plugs, I'd go with NGK Iridiums, I believe they come pregapped so you just drop em right in.

Probably NGK for those too, or what ever other legit company.
I got some no-name ones from Autozone and they are pretty crappy.
I'm thinking about getting Densos for my car though, since I don't like how NGK wires are blue.

Ok thanks man! Does anybody know of a decent cold air intake for cheap? And does anyone know if the flex a lite black widow xtreme 180 electric fan will fit on a ka24?

No idea on cold air intakes, I don't even know if they make a big difference on our cars. Plus, the filters sit in the engine bay, opposed to sucking out air from the outside via a tube like the factory intake.
As for the fans, I'd keep the stock fan. It doesn't suck up your electrical power, pushes a lot of air, and it works like Nissan intended.
That's why I'm still running the stock fan even after I turbocharged my motor.

Alright, any suggestions on cheap power boosts then?

Intake/ exhaust but dont expect much power gains. Really without a turbo you pretty much got what you got.

Cheap power boosts don't do that much for the KA.
That's why I went turbo haha.

To elaborate on this, it's cheaper to put together a worthwhile / quality kit, than to buy a worthwhile / quality kit.

There are cheap kits to be had, but they're not worth it. Don't fall into the trap.

I'd say buy a spare KA and rebuild it on the side from the ground up for turbo and then swap it in. Keep it under 350hp and it should be relatively inexpensive and quick.

I'm not so sure I'd spend money on an SR nowadays. Its gotten pretty hard to find one that hasn't been beat on as much as a KA anyways. Might as well buy the cheaper engine, because they'll probably both need a rebuild.

There are plenty of other engine options, but they can be pretty pricey for anyone, even more so on a high school budget. But even a well cared for stock KA is plenty enuff to drift, have fun and get you in trouble.

Hey guys just an updats, noticed I havent been on here in a while, I havent done too much lately just some clean up i cleaned the interior and took the seats out, need to get some new ones, cleaned up some rust in the trunk and sprayed a rust sealer over it, I removed the resivour to power steering pump hose as I think thats what the leak is coming from and I am waiting for a new one from nissan, I am contacting some frame repair places this week to get some quotes for the frame repair, and I also think imma need to replace the tie rod ends aswell, othere than that not much has happened lol.
Thanks for your guys suggestions and help so far :)

Thats smart. Good to get the priorities and safety stuff fixed first so you can drive it without worry.

So because I had a few expenses recently im running a bit tighter on funds than usual so I began wondering, is it possible to just isolate the power steering pump for the time being so I can get around to the leak when I have a bit more money?

Well if you just remove the belt, it's gonna be really hard to steer since there's fluid in it...

Only way I'd do it is by taking the rack apart and greasing it up with some moly stuff.
