I am in need of help. I need to get the timing chain guides on my 92 Q45 replaced soon and was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would run me to get them done by a mechanic or if it would be cheaper to do them myself. I'm in the Louisville, KY area and if it's easier to take it to a mechanic, does anyone know of a good place to take it?

How far are you from Atlanta (T3)? Generally not considered a DIY job.

Definitely cheaper to do it yourself, assuming you don't break something expensive in the process. Doesn't mean it's worth it, depending on your patience, skill level and net worth.
