Once upon a time, I removed the interior door panel to replace a speaker but that was beyond my aging 61 year-old brain's ability to completely remember.

I need to replace the mirror housing. As I recall, I slide the arm rest back and from there it is all a blank. I remember a few 10mm screws and I also remember having to remove the switches. At one point I think it is necessary to pull on something and pray that it does not break before it pops loose, but if anyone can describe the steps, I would be grateful.

ThanksKen K

Ive removed a door panel a million times on a Q.... SLide the armrest back (I get a thin putty knife and slide it in there, screwdrivers will make marks), and it will not want to move but it will eventually. Will expose 3 screws...

Then pull the trim piece off with the door switch. best way to get the trim peice off is to take a screwdriver, pry the front part and it will unsnap, then you can massage it out with your fingers.... once you have it massaged out, you pull it foreward and itll be free and not broken.... Thers one more screw where the grab handle is.

Then its just clipped in, start at the bottom and work your way up. once you have done that, lift up and undo the harnesses.

Thanks, Wes.

I knew there was one point where I thought I might break something and that must have been when removing the plate with the switches.

The door switch trim piece has a tendency to want to crack during removal. I use a long spatula layed horizontally and pry the entire length of the top side as one. Once the top is released the rest of the pawls will loosen up and it will come right out.

It is a bit unseasonably cold here in California. I will warm up my garage to help keep the plastic more flexible.

ThanksKen
