Here are a few extra tips:1. Don't forget to mark the cam chain position on the sprockets before taking them apart. Big time and piece-of-mind saver.
2. If you're doing it w/ the engine in the car don't forget to set the cylinder you're working on to tdc before releasing the collettes/valve springs so that the valves don't fall into the cylinder. The valves aren't magnetic so I don't know how you'd get them out (besides taking off the head) if they do fall in.
3. When setting to tdc you can do cyl. 1 & 4 together and 2 & 3 together because they go tdc in sync.
4. If you have the money get the special tools. They'll make the job a lot easier, especially if you leave the engine in the car. They probably would have saved us about 3 hours and some blood, sweat and tears.
5. Use locking needle nose pliers to pull the valve oil seals cause it'll be like pulling teeth. We just tried regular needle nose pliers and it was a complete b!7c4. The locking pliers make it sooo much easier and it prevented us from causing damage to the valve stems.
6. Take off the hood if you're doing it w/o the special tools. It'll be a lot easier to get to cyl. 3 & 4 with the socket push-up method.
Uh, that's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hope this helps.
