92 HVAC display problems

Ive tried to do a search for information on this problem, but have come up empty. Basically the HVAC control unit display only intermiditly works. The actual climate control itself still functions, and can be controlled, but your not quite sure exactly what temperature it is set on and such. Apparently this must be a problem becuase people keep outbidding me on ebay for working units. My father mentioned that he thought he had found a company that would rebuild it for $100, but I cant see the need. Surely it must just be a contact that needs a little soldering or something.

Yes, too many of us Q45 guys never venture outside of here .

Though for most repair/mechaincal things, the Inf Online Mech is the correct place for such threads, and we will move some there at times.
