I have to ask though, who the hell painted your car and why? :P
Be sure to post pics of the motor. I have always like SOHC turbo 240's.

Well, if you must know, myself and a friend painted my car. It started out with a half empty can of paint and I sprayed a spot on the back bumper just to see how it looked. One thing led to another and 3 or 4 cans later, you have what you see here.

Nice setup...a few suggestions;

Please sand and primer your car asap, stay away from paint rattle cans.

Your engine bay can use a little TLC.

You deserved the best, Bro...especially with all that deployment money you just got.

That NSX gave me a woody....

lower compression is better with a turbo because the air being forced into the cylinder so even though the compression is lower, it has more air to compress.

Nice build. I'm shooting for my next summers vacation project to boost my KAE. I don't plan on building anything up, just running low boost to keep me happy. Then ima build a DE on the side for when my E blows (props to StricNyne for the idea).

^^Neither do I

I haven't researched it that much yet, but is there some huge obstacle for the SOHC to overcome? As I said, it's not gonna be a power house, just enough to hold me over.

No, the SOHC is a great motor to turbo. Parts are dirt cheap, easy to find, and the motor is incredibly easy to work on. You don't have to pull the cam to pull the head off, for instance!

Only downside is that is popularity is not quite booming like the DOHCs and the JDM motors, so finding things like manifolds and such can be tricky.

I plan on picking up a port and polished head with ~3k miles on it. The stock head can take boost no problem, don't need to upgrade the springs or anything. But with the P&P it should be good for some decent flow.

The block will be treated to some machine work to make sure everything is sound, and the pistons and rods will be replaced using all ARP hardware and new bearings. Will be replacing the oil pump, too

I can't wait. But, I still have some bills to pay before I can start putting these dreams on paper.

But think about it, for about the price of an SR motor set, you can make MORE power (and much more torque) than a stock SR without having to swap a damn thing. Plus if something breaks, your local dealership or parts store will most likely carry it, because the motor was actually used here KA-T FTW!!

Little update:

This setup on 7psi has no problem beating a Colbalt SS or a Mustang GT. Stay tuned for the break-in and the turning up the boost...
